“Quiet, residential and so so classy!”
Reviewed January 25, 2013

Stayed here for a couple of nights during a business trip.
Saw it mainly very early morning and in the evening. Was always lovely and calm with many of Paris's other attractions visible from it as well.

“Peace in Paris”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

The Ile St. Louis is the 2nd island in the center of the Seine named after King Louis IX. It is a peaceful oasis in the busy Paris centre. The island has only narrow one-way streets, no métro stations and two bus stops. Most of the island is residential (very expensive), but there are several restaurants, shops, cafés and ice cream parlours at street level, as well as one large church, Saint-Louis-en-l'Île Church. Definitely worth a couple of hours to get away from the hustle and bustle if you need a little peace and quiet.

“Great place to stay!”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

Rented an apartment on the Ile St Louis with my parents for a week. I love the small cozy feeling of running up the street for bread and pastries for breakfast. I ended up going to a supermarket in St Michel for a wider selection of groceries, as the small stores were somewhat limited. But excellent butcher shops and fromage shops on the main street! The location of the Notre Dame-St Michel metro stop was very convienent, as was the Sully-Moreland stop.

“Walking tour of Ile St. Louis”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

My daughter reminds me that this was a focal point of our time there. She would love to stay there in a hotel the next time she visits.

“Neighborhood within a neighborhood”
Reviewed January 23, 2013

This island, much less crowded and more calm than Ile de la cité is relaxed, has wonderful restaurants, boutiques and galleries, and even a really nice hotel. While the principal axis of the island has the most stores, some of the side streets have good restaurants and the world famous Bertillon ice cream. One great restaurant with reasonable prices, good meals and a fun staff is, "Les Fous de l'ile".
