“Do NOT attend any concerts here!”
Reviewed April 29, 2013

On our recent trip, we attended a performance of Mozart's Requiem is the Saint-Sulpice church. It was one of the worst concerts I have ever attended. Although in a lovely area, the church is as big as a train station with worse acoustics. Sound continued for more than 4 seconds after the singing stopped. The choir (not really sure who they were) was unprofessional in every way--how they were arranged, how they watched the conductor, in their tone quality, etc. The soloists were quirky and very irregular in quality. The audience kept holding up their cameras and iPads during the performance to take videos. The chamber orchestra was not bad. Basically a very poor venue for an even worse performance. If this was just for friends and families of the singers, it should be advertised as such.

“Beautiful paintings”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

Besides the fact that St Sulpice is located on a very nice piazza, there are beautiful paintings inside such as 'La lutte avec l'ange' by Delacroix

“Probably best cathedral in Paris”
Reviewed March 7, 2013

This church is impressive, built on the style of a roman temple, it rivals with Notre Dame and maybe it is more beautiful. There's a square in front of the cathedral with wonderful fountain, it is simply a pleasure to sit there, not to mention that it is also more quite and relax than other places in Paris. Try to come on a sunny day so you enjoy it more

“Majestic Church and fountain”
Reviewed February 17, 2013

As I was walking in Blvd. St. Germain des Pres, I decided to make a little detour to go to St. Sulpice. As everyone has read Da Vinci's Code, I was intrigued what lies behind this church.
I went during winter so the fountain was turned off but you can still take pictures of it.
The outside church was little distracting until you pay closely attention to the architecture. The two side of the tower are completely different. One tower is dirtier/older and the other one is clean and polish.
The interior of the church is impressive, the columns, altar, the windows are truly the work of art. I would visit it again and maybe attend a mass.

“My Favorite Church in Paris”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

This is my favorite church to visit on Sunday mornings when in Paris. For those interested in fine music, there is a long and distinguished history of great organists here. In the center of this is the Cavaile Coll organ in the rear gallery.

Following the 10:30 mass, musical pilgrims from around the world gather at a small door, which is unlocked at a certain time each Sunday to allow visitors into the organ loft. The organist speaks a number of languages and is very welcoming to those who climb the stairs. There's also a side room with photos of various organists, including a famous visitor, Albert Schweitzer.
