“good location, small bathroom!”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 22, 2012

I recently spent two nights at this hotel.
First, the positives....the location, two minutes from the Metro/RER station, clean room with comfortable bed.
The negatives...TINY bathroom with a shower cabinet so small, that every time i moved i turned the shower off by accident!
The lift/elevator is tiny and the charge for breakfast of 14 euros was a little high with cafes all over the place within one minute walk!

Yes, it is just that - location, location.

This "quaint" hotel is located in one of the more preferred quarters of Paris - the Latin Quarter because of the variety of restaurants in the area and that it is ONLY a five minute walk to the Notre Dame. We were checked in by Patrick who was friendly and a real joy to talk to - you really felt "at home".

As we were not travelling with a lap top or iPad, we were very glad to see free Internet available in the lounge area.

Sadly, now for the negatives.

The breakfast was very basic and if you wanted a hot breakfast, the only choice was boiled eggs, which you had to boil yourself. There was no fridge in the room. We stayed there for 3 nights and on one occasion, our towels were not replaced. In our room there was VERY little water pressure and hot water - murder for washing your hair.

Would I go back to this hotel - I don't know.

Room Tip: Diabetics and travellers who need refrigerated medication - check first before booking a room/

Positives: Great location with tons and restaurants and night life around the hotel. Notre Dame down the street and metro very close. Bathroom looked newly renovated...huge tub...everything was immaculate. We arrived late at night and the clerk was so nice and helpful. We had to find a gas station to fuel our rental car before returning. He printed out directions and showed me exactly where the nearest station was.

Negative: very small room. our large bed (king?) took up almost the whole room...I had to squeeze between foot of bed and the wall to get around to the other side of the bed. there were also a lot of street noises, ie, cars driving by, but nothing i couldn't sleep through. small annoyance in order to stay in great location.

Overall: definitely recommend and I would stay again

Really well situated to see all the sights in paris. Good metro links. Good selection of bars/restaurants at hand. Recently refurbished to a high standard. Really poilte and corteus staff. Would definetly go back

Room Tip: rooms overlooking the main street seem to be larger.

More of a sleeping pod or capsule than a room, not much space in standard single room! They are really maximising the number of rooms in this one.
No fridge. View of back of other buildings and ventilation shafts.
Poor sound-proofing, I heard all the noises from corridors and other rooms, was woken early by other guests.
Otherwise, clean and functional, and in a good location, in the heart of Latin Quarter and walking distance to anything you can think of. Staff at check-in OK if a bit whimsical, no one there for check-out, had to just drop my key-card on desk as I had train to catch.
Internet is included, though fiddly sign-in process you have to go through every time.
In summary, it's all about the location on this one, and I wouldn't necessarily book it again if I get a good deal on somewhere a bit more exciting in the city next time!

Rooms kind small but very clean. Excellent service at the front desk. Let us checkin even before the time (room was already clean). Didn't try the breakfast/food. City like Paris you don't stay in the hotel anyways, you are out all day, come back just for showers and to sleep.

Stayed at this hotel from Aug 8-12. When we arrived we were told that we had been upgraded to a deluxe room because no twin rooms were available. Our room was on the sixth floor and was a twin room so I'm not sure what the upgrade was about. The room was small and it was a bit of a challenge to find room to unpack and store our luggage but we managed. The bathroom was small but it had a wonderful shower. The air conditioning was great, the beds were comfortable and if you looked out the window to the left, you could see the Eiffel Tower! The elevator is small but we were both able to get in along with our luggage....a nice treat after hauling our luggage up stairs elsewhere. As mentioned elsewhere, the location was excellent. On our morning of departure, it was so easy to hop on the RER at the Cluny Metro station and head to the the airport. We were very happy with the price and I was even able to use Best Western gift cards issued in Canada at checkout.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone going to Paris for so many reasons. I only hope that I have a change to visit again!
