My wife,17year old son and I stayed here for 4 nights. We arrived at Gare du Nord railway station on the Eurostar train and then caught a Metro train to St.Michel station. It was then only a short walk to Citadines and we pulled our suitcases on wheels behind us on the footpath(sidewalk).
The desk staff at Citadines allowed us to check into our appartment straight away even though we arrived a long time before the official check in time. The staff spoke English.
Our 2 bedroom appartment was very spacious .It was very quiet day and night.
WiFi internet was free.We walked to a Carrefour supermarket and bought fresh and reheatable food for breakfast and dinners. We heated food in the oven and washed the crockery and cutlery in the dishwasher. The free hot beverages in the foyer were great.
The beds and pillows were comfortable and we slept well. The location next to the river was excellent because we were able to walk to cafes, shops, restaurants, tourist attractions and the train station. When we checked out, the staff stored our suitcases in the luggage room until we were ready to leave Paris.
This is an excellent appartment hotel.

I am a huge fan of Citadines hotels for their comfort and their pricing, and usually their well chosen location, and the Citadines Saint Germain des Pres proved to be no exception. As you will have read in countless reviews, the location is superb---directly on the Seine between Notre Dame (only blocks away) and the Louvre, with all the great restaurants and shops of St. Germain directly behind you. Having stayed in Paris perhaps 40 times, I would say that this hotel---dollar for dollar/value/comfort and location in St. Germain make staying here a no brainer. I got a discount rate of 115 Euros per night for a studio room with a very comfortable pull out bed---but the room---was extremely large, much larger than rooms I have payed much more for and included a good size kitchen and nice sized bathroom. The lobby is very tastefully decorated, and the continental breakfast (although lacking meats) was a fine value for 10 Euro. I would stay here again in a second---and undoubtedly will. I wish I had discovered it before. When I checked in, the very kind man behind the counter at first told me that he wouldn't have a room available for a few hours (as it was only noon), but when I explained that I had just traveled in from Los Angeles, he went out of his way to get a room ready for me immediately. Bottom line---you can't go wrong at this price and in this location.

Quiet , clean (appartment) hotel in the city center with very spacy rooms and with cooking facilities. Good petit dejeuner included in the room price.

We had a great stay at Citadines Saint-Germain-des-Pres in October 2010. The location and front desk staff are fantastic. The rooms are also excellent and the well-appointed kitchen was much appreciated.

However the devil is in the details: 1. my two-year old could unlock the front door of our apartment, open it and run down the hotel hallway! I ended up needing to barricade the front door. 2. the bedroom door wouldn't close because the bed/headboard/side tables (an all-in-one unit) is in the wrong spot. 3. there was no shampoo and conditioner, which I especially needed it on this trip because I'd "packed light". 4. likewise no coffee and tea 5. you were required to empty your own bins and oftentimes make your own bed.

It would be handy for the hotel to add a few more euros to the price and provide basic toiletries, tea, coffee, sugar and cooking oil. While the nearby supermarket had such things in stock and the front desk can provide some items for a small fee, I often wondered 'why can't it just be in the rooms?'.

Such details gave the impression the hotel was being unnecessarily frugal; especially on top of their do-it-yourself cleaning policy. Also I didn't want to be put in the position of needing to take basic groceries home (and through international customs).

As I said, these are all small details, and nothing which couldn't be overcome. But it did detract from an otherwise fantastic stay.

We loved the Citadine. It is a hotel without Parisian charm but it is modern, clean, comfortable, well located and efficiently staffed. We stayed with our two children for 4 days in early-July 2010. Our room overlooked the Seine and Pont Neuf and you could see Sacre Coure and Notre Dame. We walked across the Pont Neuf to the Louvre and Ile de la Cite and Ile St. Louis (Notre Dame, St. Chapelle). It is about 4 long blocks from the St. Michel Metro to the hotel. The room had a separate bedroom with its own television and a living room with fold-out sofa bed, chairs, desk, hospital-style moveable narrow table and mini-kitchen with all amenities. The kitchen has a stove, pots, mini-dishwasher, junior refrigerator, dishes, microwave…everything you’ll need. We never ate the over-priced breakfast at the hotel. My husband ran out to the shops, bakeries, etc. behind the hotel each morning to get breakfast pastries and breads. Go to the very affordable Carrefour in St. Germain for food and drinks but don’t dawdle. It closes at 6pm on Sunday and isn’t open on Monday. We made eggs for breakfast and sandwiches for to carry with us for lunch. Buy bottles of water at the Carrefour and refill them where you can. There’s a cold water cooler in the Lobby that we hit several times a day. There are tons of restaurants and cafes behind the hotel to eat dinner. The only English-speaking channel the hotel gets is the BBC. The computers in the lobby with free Internet were in constant use. When you leave, if you’re going to De Gaulle be sure to arrange for a cab at least 24 hours in advance. The desk will arrange it for you.

We just returned from 10 glorious days in Paris. Part of what made our vacation so great was the stay at this Citadines, located right on the Seine across from Ile de la Cite. The St-Michel Metro is about 1 one block away - we took the RER B train direct from the airport to this stop which was a great deal at only about 9 euros/person. We had a 1-bedroom suite. It was very large, clean and modern. Our room faced an inner courtyard so even though we had no view of the city it was very quiet at night. The kitchenette has everything you need if you want to cook your own meals. The Citadines model does not provide daily housekeeping, which was fine for us. There were plenty of clean towels - and a nice heated towel rack in the bathroom. All the staff we interacted with were very friendly and accommodating - everyone spoke English. We walked almost everywhere from this central location - it borders on the Latin Quarter so at night there was a lot of buzz from the students and bars in the area, and you could still find some wonderful restaurants, cafes and shopping close by. We felt very safe at all times of the day and night. In particular, I recommend these restaurants, both on rue Dauphine, about a 5 min. walk from the hotel (unfortunately not French food): Pizza Marinara - run by a family from Napoli and the best Italian food you'll find outside of Italy. Also great prices, compared to other French restaurant menus. And Fajitas - owned by an American/Mexican couple and great, authentic Mexican food with generous portions. We will definitely stay at this Citadines again on our next trip to Paris.

This apartment is in a fantastic location. Walking distance to major sites, although very long walk to Eiffel Tower. We did it with 5 children but we took the train back. Great shops, restaurants and all that Paris has to offer abounds outside the doorstep. Apartment is clean, but you do not have a change of linen. Washer dryer available in basement. Internet by cable in apartment and wireless in lobby. This is the only ugrade that would be very helpful so that smartphones can be used in the apartment. Also, our unit was very warm upon arrival so air conditioning needs to be turned on to a comfortable level prior to guest arrival. Would stay here again.
