“K+K Hotel and Paris Trip”
Reviewed May 22, 2008

My daughter and I just returned from a week in Paris and had a fantastic trip. We did all the planning and booked only one half day bus tour with Cityrama which was very inclusive of the history of Paris . It also included a boat ride on the Seine and walking to some of the major attractions. Other than that we walked, rode the metro (the Rue de Bac station across the street from our hotel) Delightful sights to see walking the city!

The K + K Cayre Hotel is great. Very convenient location with lots of restaurants, cafes, bars and brassiere and boutiques in the area.
The staff was very friendly and accomodating. The breakfast buffet was so plentiful with fruits, cereals, hot dishes, cheeses, meats, and drinks hot and cold--even champagne. Our room was on the 5th floor and faced the street and a beautiful apartment building. Free internet service in lobby and a lobby bar.

It was very quiet at night. The bedding was so comfortable;flat screen T.V., coffee and tea, a mini bar and safe. Adequate closet space.
Shell station next door has snacks, deli, fresh desserts and provisions for your room. Even the most delicious French baguette bread.

Looking forward to a return trip.

Thanks for the previous reviews on this hotel property. We finally decided to stay in this hotel for our first trip to Paris after doing so much research on the web. My husband had travelled extensively for business and we had stayed in many big 5 star hotels such as Four Seasons, Hyatt, Shangri-la, Sheraton, Le Meridien, etc in other countries. We pick K & K Cayre for its relatively reasonable price for a 3-4 star hotel because everything is so expensive in Paris. K & K did not disappoint us. The hotel meets our expectation in term of comfort. It is clean, modern and well equipped with daily essentials. Lodging is important for us because we really wanted a comfortable place to relax after every long sight seeing day, not necessary luxurious but comfy enough for a tired day. Room is a little small as expected for Paris. We got an upgrade room and the size is okay for us, enough space for two of us and our baggages. No toothbrush and bathrobe in the room but you could request them at the reception. A little nice thing....there is a shoe polisher close to the elevator. Hotel staff are very friendly and speak fluent English.

We were given a room facing the court yard. That's what we requested for its quietness. It did not bother us too much that the rooms facing us are quite close when we open the window. Maybe should ask for a room facing the main street without facing close building but may need to deal with some street noises during the morning. The location is pretty quite in the nite, but we feel very safe to walk around.

There is a Shell station with a mini mart next door and a small supermarket just around the block from the hotel for any essentials that you need. We bought our drinking water from Shell which costed us 2 Euros for 6 bottles (1 Litre each); very good deal. Few brasseries around the corner. A short walking distance is one of the best restaurants in Paris; L'Atelier de Joel Robuchon. If you have a chance, try this restaurant. You will really enjoy but just a little pricey. Hotel staff helps to make reservation but was fully booked throughout the week. We went there one evening to check it out and we were able to get a table within 10 mins due to some cancellation; lucky us!

There is a post office is across the street. A metro station, Rue du Bac, is also just in front of the hotel. We used metro as our main transportation because it is so convenient to get to anywhere. You can get a five days unlimited pass for 27.50 Euro. That pass covers the metro, RER and buses within Paris city limit. You can also take bus route 69 at Rue du Bac (bus stop at the corner of the hotel) to take you to Eiffel Tower.

The only down side that I could comment about the hotel was the in-room internet access. It was free but not wireless. You had to ask the front desk for an ethernet cable.

Overall, we had a very pleasant stay at the K & K Cayre and Paris which is such a interesting city. We had indeed enjoyed our first trip to Paris and will definitely return again soon!!

Stayed here for a long weekend and found the location of the hotel ideal. Jumped on the the eurostar and was was in Paris in unbelievable time. It was a few stops on the Metro. Next to the hotel is a really convinient petrol station that has all the regular stuff you need like water, snacks etc. Also there is a really nice Cafe literally seconds from the front of the hotel which was nice just to stop at and catch your breath. There is a taxi rank across the road which was convinient for when I needed to get to dinner appointments. Also within 10 minutes walk is the Seine. Felt instanty at home. The area is quite at night and its nice to stroll the roads feeling pretty safe. The staff are really friendly and keen to help. There is convinient 24hours internet access in the lobby which is good for all us insomniacs out there and guy at the desk can tell a good story - in perfect English of course. Good clean hotel.

We picked the Cayre based on the reviews that we'd seen on Expedia and Tripadvisor.

We were looking for a hotel that was central to all of the main attractions and Cayre certainly ticked all of those boxes with the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay and Pompidou centre all being a short stroll away. There is also a Metro stop right at the front door of the hotel, which made life easy for going farther afield.

The room was small, but the light decor meant that it didn't feel oppressive or poky. In fact, it was surprisingly comfortable. We had a room on the sixth floor with views to the Sacre Coeur.

The hotel staff were excellent getting us dinner reservations on both Saturday and Sunday evening when we'd left it rather late to book, which meant phoning around.

We went to the Cafe St Germain for breakfast - which was 9 euros a head for a continental and is only a few yards from the hotel for those who don't want to pay the hotel prices for breakfast.

All in all, we'd definitely go back. I honestly can't think of a negative aspect.

  • Liked — The efficient, unfussy service and the light, airy room.
  • Disliked — Can't think of any negatives.

I found the K+K Hotel Cayre to be a perfect choice for my trip to Paris. For starters, the location was amazing. It was right off St. Germain and literally across the street from a metro. I loved the cafe almost next door and ate breakfast there every morning.

The Staff was wonderful to work with, very friendly. They even helped collect ice when I twisted my ankle! The rooms were quite comfortable with a double bed. I enjoyed the modern decor of the room. I was traveling alone so the smaller size of the room did not bother me at all. My room was on the top floor and I could see Sacre La Coeur out my windows! The heated bathroom floor was a big plus as well.

I wish the water pressure in the shower had been greater. It was a bit weak for my taste. I never tried the breakfast in the hotel, deciding that 25 euros there versus 9 euros at the cafe was too expensive. I also was in an unique situation of needing to use the laundry services at the hotel which while extremely convenient caused me a small fortune!

I would easily recommend the K+K Cayre to anyone traveling in Paris.

Stayed at this hotel with my boyrfriend for a weekend in Paris...it was fabulous! It is about 30 seconds walk from a metro stop. Close walk (5-10min) to the Musee D'Orsay and Tuileries Park. We had a room with a balcony overlooking a quiet streets After an evening out, we would enjoy a French wine on the balcony!

Super clean, large bathroom, amazingly comfortable bed!! Perfect for a nap after a tiring day of sightseeing! Other than the excellent room, the staff was also extremely friendly and helpful. They gave us recommendations for restaurants each night and even reserved for us (as our French was fairly limited). Definitely eat at Le Petit Chaise which is within walking distance, delicious French food and cozy atomosphere.

We loved Paris and loved our stay at the K+K. I would stay here again in a heartbeat.
