What is not to love about this hotel. Small and intimate, oozing with charm and character (I think it is 325 yrs old but very well maintained and decorated) and a location that is second to none. It is located 100 ft north of Blvd Ste Germain and as others have said, only a 15 min walk to all the major attractions: D'Orsay, Louvre, Notre Dame. Luxembourg Gardens.

We bought a 2 day Batobus tx for 18E (one day was 15E so it was a deal) which worked for us as transportation to get us down as far as the Eiffel Tower without having to walk. Tx available at any batobus stop and the Ste Germain one is...wait for it....15 min walk on the Seine.

While we did not eat the hotel's breakfast, we did take advantage of their complimentary coffee by getting a tray every morning and enjoying coffee and a fresh pastry purchased from the boulangerie (Eric Kaiser) across the street. There are literally a 100 places to eat within one block of the hotel. Our favourite was the Relais Odeon at the corner of Ancienne Comedie and st German. We ate there every night.

Staff at the hotel was efficient and some friendlier than others. The top staff member was Sinan who efficiently organized a mini bus tour to Versailles for us as well as a private transfer to CDG. Very professional in his dress, attitude and efficiency.

As others have mentioned, I used the computer in the lobby to print up my boarding passes altho CDG has you print up your own luggage tags at the airport (if you have checked in online already) and along with that comes more boarding passes.

I think we had one of the small 'standard' rooms as it was about 10x10 but beautifully decorated and overlooking the inner courtyard so quiet. The bathroom was newly updated with tile tub/shower and floor. Note: no regular wash clothes provided in Europe so either bring your own or be content with the disposable 'glove' they provide.

We didn't use the safe but it was free as long as you didn't lose the key..then there would be a 50E 'fine'. We didn't use the mini bar either....no need, a Nicholas wine store located across the street.

We love love loved this hotel and will be back for soon.

This is one of Best Western's earlier attempts to provide an American-friendly Parisien hotel in the St Germain area. Unlike their vastly superior Au Manoir St Germain opposite Cafe de Flore this is round the corner in the tourist end of town closer to Boulevard Saint-Michel. And slightly shabbier as a result. There is an earlier attempt to fashion a French rural ambience in the lobby with a clutter of objets d'art from some faux French style-warehouse. And the rooms have a tired feel to them although to be fair having asked for a room higher up the view was over the rooftops towards Notre Dame. However the real triumph of the Americanization is that there is no smell of Parisian plumbing, the bathrooms are clean and new and the rooms actually have built in air-conditioning. And the bed was large enough and very comfortable too. The staff were helpful and friendly though I suspect weary from the endless parade of foreign faces at the desk. Not my favourite local hotel, but it will do.

Room Tip: Higher up.

This is a great 3 star hotel veryclose to the Seine and Notre Dame. It's about 10 minutes walk to the Louvre, and 15 minutes to the Musee D'Orsay. The metro is right around the corner, so it's easy to get the train from Charles De Gaule. The rooms are basic, but spacious. The soundproofing is excellent, we looked onto the street, but there was no noise at night. There are loads of good restaurants and bars close to the hotel, and they are reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Helpful and communication before we arrived. Comfortable double room with character and quality as the photos. We enjoyed the buffet breakfast and a variety of local bistros in the evening. An excllent locatopn for sightseeing and celebration. We appreciated the air conditioning and the effective sound reduction of the windows, when we closed them at the end of each day.

We stayed in a corner room on the second floor. It looked out over a main Paris road but the double-glazing was astonishingly good - with the windows shut you wouldn't even know you were in a major city! Good black-out curtains too. Air-con also very good so no problem with being hot.

The room wasn't large but it was fine; the bathroom was a little shaky in places, a tile missing off the bath and the shower certainly could have been better. Bed was quite firm which I liked but my partner found too hard. The receptionist was very helpful and polite and spoke perfect English.

We'd definitely stay there again. We got a good deal because August has good deals in Paris.

We had breakfast round the corner at L'Atlas cafe (and dinner at Chez Henri which we loved!)
