The hotel is situated on the right side of the Gare de l'est terminal building itself. It's a few steps outside the main door of the train station when facing Rue du Strasbourg.

It's a simple property, but provides adequate comfort to weary travellers, especially those seeking convenience while travelling from one city to another. Guests go up to the 2nd floor to reach the reception counter. Room comfort may not be uniformly praiseworthy among different guests due to the already soft, somewhat worn out mattress. Carpets also show their age.

Nevertheless, for the price the hotel charges I would rate the hotel as adequate for travellers who want convenience, rooms that are clean and quiet. Breakfast choices are good. No one should go hungry while busy enjoying Paris.

Pros:
Very good location, which is near the train station, especially when you have a lot of luggage with you !
Convenience and strong WiFi service

Cons
Noisy everytime when the trains arrive and depart, until very late and start very early the day after.
Water pressure not stable, the shower sometimes very hot and sometimes very cold
Mini frig was out of order

Room Tip: There are rooms that looks newer (newly renovated), new room have grey carpets and the old room have brown/red carpets

Only here for one night but it was quite good. Fantastic location in the railway station. Rooms were small and wifi signal weak, but bed was good, nice linen and comfortable sleep. It is also only 5 minutes from Gard u Nord

Location, location, location! Ridiculously close to station! Turn right out main entrance, past FNAC shop, and it's on the right; small purple signs.

Quiet- our room (for 3 people; spare bed for daughter was ready on checkin) had a door closing off the space between front door and bathroom, which kept out the hallway noise even though we were close to busy reception area.

Brasserie ?Flo? downstairs was really nice quality, great entrecote, chips and salad, and 20% discount if you get coupon from reception. Recommended!

Be careful with breakfasts. Breakfast was poor quality; similar to average British hotel but I'd expect better in France. Moreover...

We were suspicious about our breakfast charges. The person at reception did not seem to know how many days we'd had breakfast. She knew we were only staying for 2 days yet said she'd charge us for 4 days of breakfasts times 2 people (92 Euros); I told her no, we were just having 1 breakfast times 2 people, and she still charged me for 2 breakfasts times 2 people (46 Euros). Thankfully, Booking.com helped me get reimbursed promptly when the error was recognized. But the error was so blatant, I am suspicious that there was deception originally involved; if not that, negligence. This just should not be happening-- I saw the breakfast attendant making note of our room when we walked in, so surely they had a record of which days we'd had breakfast, but they did not communicate well w/reception and/or the receptionist was making things up.

But, all worked out fine and we were happy with the hotel, and would return again.
