“Love this bridge”
Reviewed February 23, 2013

It is sad to see all the 'terrible' reviews from the people who obviously do not see this as a lovely place to visit to see all the couples who have been here together and decided to show the world their love. The bridge looks spectacular with all the locks on and it is lovely to spend time reading them all. The locks do not 'hurt' the bridge and as other people say they clear them off after a certain amount of time as there are so many. The keys certainly do not 'hurt' the Seine either as it is very unclean and dirty. It is great to walk around the area as well to see all the art being sold.

“This is vandalism, not a show of love!”
Reviewed February 22, 2013

It amazes me that people think vandalizing a beautiful bridge is romantic! This "tradition" is ruining this landmark and I'm sure the keys are not helping the seine river. PLEASE find another way to prove your love than desecrating this beautiful city.

Me being a romantic took a lock to put on the bridge with all the other romantic couples.
My boyfriend was not as keen as myself but its so nice to put a lock on and if you dont have a lock there is souvenier shops near by that sell locks and will even engrave them if you wish for this wish i new about the engrave before fingers crossed my marker pen wont run away.

“Unique bridge with a back story”
Reviewed February 15, 2013 via mobile

Every couple who has come across in this bridge attached a padlock on the grate or to the railing of this bridge and throwing the key to the river as a romantic gesture.
Not really sure how this trend started but when u do walk by in this bridge, take time to look at the locks. It is engraved by the couple's name and date.

“The Bridge of Love”
Reviewed February 12, 2013

There are other bridges where padlocks are left such as the Pont Neuf but this is THE one. Buy a padlock before you leave home, and not from the rip-off street sellers, add your names in waterproof ink, padlock yours along with the tens of thousands of others, then cast your key into the Seine. Sadly the padlock won't remain there for ever, unlike your love, as the authorities bolt crop them off every year or so.
