I usually have Laduree and this was my first Pierre Hermes. Couldn't tell which is better but PH looks like they have more interesting flavour to choose from. We personally like Olive Oil the most but not the yogurt series.

Go to the one at Rue Cambon after visiting Louvre. You don't need to queue there.

I've heard so many opinions that I had to conduct my own very (un)official review of macarons in Paris. Everyone goes on and on about Laduree, and though I was not really impressed the last time I went, I gave them as well as Gerard Mulot another try and added Pierre Herme to the mix. Hands down, Pierre takes the cake! And all the other pastry metaphors as well. If there are any, which I can't think of right now. In my book he wins because the little cookies are extremely fresh with the right of amount of crisp outsides that quickly give way to a light and chewy melt-in-your-mouth inside. And the fillings are delicious. We had a creme brûlée, a salted caramel (which had a caramel filling that was buttery and not overly sweet, thick or sticky), and a few other fruit flavors. He also wins because Pierre always has a few imaginative flavors that really are delightful and unexpected and so, so fun. It's a perfect treat. We also bought a few other pastries there, because why not and they were also simply amazing, fresh, perfect with the best of the best ingredients. Wild strawberries, juicy lemons, rich silky chocolate...are you hungry yet? Run there - you won't regret it!

small shop on 'rue cambon' and the macarons are lined up like 'little soldiers...'
Do know what you want because there will probably be a line. You just can't go wrong with anything you see here and just have fun!

Great macarons. Had the vanilla and olive oil one. Sat in the nearby tuilerie gardens to eat it. Yum! Would recommend as a must for paris.

After visiting Paris last summer, I fell in love with the macaron via Laduree. This trip, we were determined to try somewhere other than Laduree for the treats. This location was a little hidden due to the small sign (couldn't see it well from Rue Royale) but the small shop was empty and the staff very friendly. They spoke English with no hesitation and were poliet and very helpful.

Not only do they have some standard flavors but they also have some interesting flavor combinations to try. The prices are also very reasonable in comparision to other shops. Didn't get a chance to try the chocolates but I did bring home a few boxes of this shop's macarons to share with friends and families. Visiting this brand is a must do now on my list anytime I'm near one of the store's locations!!
