I'm not much of a macaron fan but just had to try Laduree and Pierre Herme's. No comparison, Pierre makes the best! Delicately crisp outside and deliciously creamy filling. Not to mention how beautiful they are. The unusual flavors combinations and the presentations are so worth the price. Way better than cupcakes!
I tried the chocolat/foie gras with trepidation but it was delicious! Also, it was so gorgeous. An ombre of maroon and rich brown with a bronze sheen. The richness of the foie just created a decadent ganache like filling. Was not gamey at all. The seemingly small size of the macaron is perfect for its decadence.
