“For those looking for new things to do in Paris”
Reviewed June 15, 2013

What a lot of fun. If you have been to Paris 3 or 4 times, done the Seine, Louvre, Sacre Coeur, then this might be an idea to explore. There are many different routes to choose from, but the point of each is to explore parts of Paris that you have not been to before. The canal network around the outskirts of the central areas of Paris are quite extensive. We took the route East along the Seine, through the Bastille and up to the Parc de la Villette (where there are also a few fun museums). The commentary was very good and drinks are available on board.

“Canal cruise at a leisurely pace...”
Reviewed June 7, 2013 via mobile

If you have a few hours to spare... take the time to get to the area of the Bastille, within a 5 minute walk you'll find the canal basin where the canal boats load, you can buy your tix right there. The boats depart twice daily, rain or shine. Don't be affraid to take this leisurely cruise if it's raining. The boat takes a slow paced ride into areas of Paris most tourists rarely get the chance to visit. Calm, slow paced, pictuesque and informative. For the 12-15 Euro cost you'll be hard pressed to find another way of touring a romantic part of Paris in such a leisurely pace. I take this cruise every other visit I make to Paris, not to be missed !

“'Atmosphere'”
Reviewed June 1, 2013 via mobile

A gem of a boat ride. Two and a half hours either from La Valette or from Basin d'Arsinal near Bastille. Good English speaking tour guides and see the life of real Paris pass by. Look out for the Hotel Du Nord where Arletty uttered the famous words ' Atmosphere toujours atmosphere' and on this boat ride it is true.

“Off the beaten path”
Reviewed May 10, 2013

A definite must if you are looking for something romantic and intimate. Much smaller than the Seine River cruisers, this small boat must past through the narrow Canal St. Martin. The cruise takes you through multiple locks and underground tunnels as you pass through beautiful leafy neighborhoods. Tour guide was authentic French yet multilingual. LOVED this excursion!

“Off the beaten track”
Reviewed May 5, 2013

If your aching feet need a rest; if you seen the major attractions already and are interested in a new view of Paris...then this tour is for you. The underground portion goes quickly and the glimpses of different neighborhoods is fun.
Nice trip but as other reviewers say, it takes quite a bit of time to get through nine locks. The locks are fascinating but, hey, nine are more than enough! Kids will like the lock process also.
The live commentary presented in French and English was straightforward. Just wish the guide would have spoken a little slower!
Leaves you off at a large park that looked interesting (we did not have time to linger) that is also off the tourist track.
