“An Elegant Brasserie at the Bristol Hotel”
Reviewed August 6, 2014

Nothing much to say: The food is excellent, the service is perfect and the setting and ambiance is close to perfection. A great place for a romantic dinner and even for up-scale business lunch or dinner

“Le bistro chic”

One star Michelin restaurant in a very nice setting with delicious French cuisine. The chef has won the price of the best "terrine". Definitely worth trying.

“Close to perfection”
Reviewed August 3, 2014 via mobile

We had a fantastic evening at Le 114 Faubourg, the restaurant of Le Bristol. The service was friendly, relaxed, and the food absolutely fantastic. We had Macaronis Farcis as a starter, 3 small but delicious pasta roles rolls with artichok and truffle filling ans sauce. Delicious. As a mainj course, the Merlan de Ligne was great, but the Sole de Sable, in a incredible sauce based upon wild mushrooms and nut butter, was fantastic (being from Belgium wherenthe sole d'Ostende is a classic, this was a fantastic alternative version. The cerise desert (prepared at the table) and the chocolat 'Nyangbo' were simply great. A nice white burgundy accompanied the meal. We had a fantastic evening, relaxed, fun and great service, and an exceptional (but traditional style French cuisine so do not expect fancy things you get at Noma) cuisine. If there's one remark to be made, it is that the army of waiters coming in and out of the kitchen making their way to their table, bringing in the meals for 40 couverts or so, plus a cheese trolley passing by at least 25 times, made it busy, a little nerveous even. Fix this, and this restaurant can get a 3 star in the Michelin guide.

Dear Guest,

We are truly grateful for taking the time to share your experience in our fine-dining restaurant Epicure.

The team appreciates to read that they took a good care of you, that you liked so much the ambiance friendly and relaxing.

As our Chef Eric Frechon says: “Many things go into making a dish which is unforgettable. It can be a classical dish that becomes unforgettable”.

Eric Frechon was delighted to read you entirely understood his way of cooking and highlighted the fantastic “Sand Sole” especially if it is a classic in Belgium.

We sincerely apologize if you had the feeling to be oppressed by an army of waiters and our team will make sure that you won’t feel the same way on your next visit.

We hope to have the welcome you in a not too distant future and thank you for your kind recommendation towards our readers.

Kind regards,

“Perfection!”
Reviewed July 16, 2014 via mobile

Probably one of the best restaurant experiences we've had. From the beginning with drinks in the hotel bar to our meal itself the service was impeccable. Discreet staff seemed to anticipate our every need. Food was absolutely sensational and we couldn't commend the staff highly enough. A truly unforgettable 5 star experience!

“A smart yet "easy" restaurant in the Hotel Bristol”
Reviewed July 13, 2014

I chose this restaurant because my partner is vegetarian and in France, most upscale restaurants cannot see past rice or pasta, if at all. This restaurant has a full vegetarian menu and it is quite imaginative. The main menu is not fussy and I had Fish & Chips, served in newspaper on a board with real tomato sauce and vinegar - fabulous! The restaurant is on two floors, you enter at the top floor and there is a lower ground floor where the open kitchen is housed. We tend to eat early and noticed that they put the families with children on the lower floor and we were on the upper floor with the "grown ups". It is not cheap but the food is excellent. Wine is upward from €54 a bottle and a meal for two will easily cost you upwards of €250. We had a salad with truffle dressing for starters which was absolutely amazing. I have answered the question {is this one of the best meals you've ever had in a restaurant} with no - but this is the very best salad dressing I have ever tasted. Our waiter was Vandeth and he was outstanding! All the staff we encountered on our way to the table were very welcoming and friendly.

The Hôtel Le Bristol is a 5 star Paris Hotel with rooms starting at €1,250 per night and a cup of coffee in the salon du the is €15, so it is not surprising that the hotel and this restaurant are truly fabulous, but the restaurant is unusually fairly laid back. As other Trippers have stated you would be very comfortable in jeans (Men) but I would wear a jacket to add a bit of smartness. Ladies always look amazing - don't you? The atmosphere in the restaurant is perfect for any occasion or for lunch or an evening meal.

A great restaurant in a fabulous hotel.

Dear Guest,

At the outset, thank you for you detailed feedback about your experience!

We found that more and more of our clients are vegetarian, or with special dietary needs, thus the creation of a vegetarian and a gluten free menu.

It is a delight to read that your partner enjoyed to be given the choice.

True enough, the 114 Faubourg is a bit more relaxed than Epicure, where the jacket is required for gentlemen.

But we generally have the pleasure of welcoming gentlemen fairly dressed up, as a pure tradition of elegant dinners, even for a luxurious Brasserie.

Indeed, the prices are in range with the quality we are willing to deliver to our guests, and in keeping with our competitors, who generally do not have a Michelin Star.

Vandeth was truly thrilled that you enjoyed his service, and is looking forward welcoming you back, for any forthcoming occasion.

Warm regards,

Kevin Chambenoit
