We stayed here for 4 nights both for business (my husband) and me (pleasure). This hotel is an elegant, clean, boutique hotel with an amazing location. Steps to the Seine, Louvre, metro, Galleries Lafayette and Opera. WiFi in room. Fabulous decor. Very attentive staff. Very quiet - easy to get a good night's sleep. Excellent AC, bathroom, etc.
We paid a hefty price for a junior suite. Overall, a wonderful hotel, but for the price and for being a 5 star, I expect perfection and it did have a few downsides. We arrived in the morning from an early flight and (as is often the case) our room was not ready. We chose to wait in the spa area, but they didn't have any lounge chairs to lay down, just simple chairs. It would be nice to have a more comfortable place for jet lagged guests to wait for rooms. There is no hair dryer outlet in the bathroom - they want you to plug the hair dryer into an outlet in the closet behind your clothes and use the closet mirror to blow dry your hair! Claimed that this is due to a "rule" that there should be no hair dryers in the bathroom. I ended up using the hair dryer at the desk in the room. They disturbed me to clean the room when I had the "do not disturb" light illuminated and I could not get an explanation as to why this happened. Front desk was very apologetic. You are provided one bottle of water per day in the room - extra bottle is $10. I hate to be "nickled and dimed" at an expensive hotel - but I will admit that is my personal beef!
Yes, I know that I am being picky, but a 5 star at this price should be perfect. Nonetheless, a fabulous hotel and I would definitely stay here again.More
