I stayed at the Britannique for over three weeks last October through to early November and thought the location was brilliant. The reception and kitchen staff were wonderful. The room was kept clean and fresh each day and generallyall of the staff were keen to help as much as possible.
The room was at times too warm, even if we turned our radiator dial right down, we would open our balcony doors to let some fresh air in.
The room was also very small...our twin beds were placed together in the space normally taken by a Queen sized bed. The beds were comfortable and the linen always very clean. The balcony doors have double glazed glass and the street noise was not an issue. We did become aware of the activities of other guests with adjoining rooms a couple of times...Whoa!
I travelled with my mother as she had never been to Paris before, and the location was excellent. My mother became ill whilst we were in Paris and the hotel staff found a doctor to come to our room in the middle of the night which is a great recommendation for their consideration and assistance.
I would suggest to book with the hotel directly but perhaps not to order the breakfast as the menu is very limited, you can breakfast at one of the local cafe's on the block.

The view from our room was an ode to Paris, my mother spent several days confined to bed, and she said that the view was a tonic for her.
The lift is also small, and there is only one laptop in the hotel lounge for guest use.
However the location of this hotel is quite fantastic, it is clean and cozy and is great value for money.
There are many cafe's and restaurants, also local small super -markets and pharmacies...should the need arise.

Quite a pleasant hotel in a very convenient location. Staff are very personable and helpful by Parisian standards. The rooms aren't exactly spacious, but are reasonably comfortable, again by Parisian standards. Free and reasonably fast and reliable internet service.

On the negative side, only some minor annoyances: I would prefer not to have to go through the routine of leaving the key at the desk every time I come and go - especially given that the "key" it is a modern keycard with a tassle oddly tied to it - but they were rather insistent on that point. The soundproofing between rooms could also be greatly improved. And for a business traveler, the desk space is very limited and the tiny chair/stool thingy could be more conducive to work.

We were very pleased with this wonderful hotel. The location was excellent and the hotel was very clean and the rooms well appointed. The ladies in our group thought the hotel was very nice, very clean well decorated and thought the bathrooms were excellent . While the rooms were a little small, there was still plenty of room and the beds were the most comfortable we have had in Europe. It was a short walk to the Louvre and Notre Dame. Plus it was only a block from the river. The hotel staff was friendly and helped with directions and information. You are very close to some great restaraunts (in all price ranges) and the Metro is right around the corner. You do get a lot for the money at the Hotel Britannique. I would pass on the breakfast however. It seemed a little expensive ( 13 Eruo per person). All in all this is a great hotel and a nice price. You will not regret staying here if you want a great location at a good price.

We stayed at this hotelon our first anniversary 10 years ago and loved it then. It has only gotten better! The staff are welll versed in English and very helpful. The hotel is clean and all the rooms- even the lobby bathroom, have been beautifully decorated. It is very charming and the beds are comfortable, with eiderdowns and quality linens. There is a great shower and everything is sparkling clean. Thin screen TV and wifi kept us connected. We even had a view of the Eifel Tower ober the roof tops of Paris out our window. The management even put an Anniversary card and a small box of chocolates in our room welcoming us back! And then there is the Location location location. We are able to comfortably walk to the Louvre, Ile de Cite and Notre Dame, Ste. Chapelle, one block from the Seine- you are close to everything at this hotel and we will definitely be coming again- and again- and again!

This is a fine hotel. It is centrally located, on a quiet street yet around the corner from the Chatelet Metro and RER. It is near the Pompidou and the Louvre. The rooms are small and the hotel costs about 30 euros per night more than it should. But the people could not be more friendly. It has touches of Great Britain: you get free copies of The Guardian.
The coffee is American-British style. Breakfast is 13 euros but is worth it.

Clean and comfortable room, great wireless internet, and usually a short walk to most sites. Staff was friendly and helpful. The morning breakfast had a good selection to choose from.
