We stayed here for our entire trip (1 week) and we simply loved it. The room was very clean & nicely appointed (had a room on the 5th floor), was a good size room & bathroom, all the staff was tremendously friendly & very helpful -- even coordinated car service to and from the airport for us -- and the hotel overall is absolutely charming. It has an option for a delicious-looking, ample breakfast each morning (although we didn't take advantage). It's located in a great part of the city (1st arrondissement), walking distance from so many wonderful spots (The Louvre, Musee d'Orsay, Ile de la Cite/Notre Dame & Saint Chappelle, the Marais). It's also right around the corner from an excellent patisserie; 3 wonderful restaurants (Bar A Manger, Au Vieux Comptoir & Le Robe et Le Palais); a Starbucks (if you REALLY need that); and a small grocery (Monop') is close by. (Our only minor complaint was that the elevator was intermittently out of order during our stay; walking 5 flights after a long day of sightseeing gave us a workout we could have done without. LOL.) Nonetheless, we HIGHLY recommend this hotel and would definitely return ourselves. Thank you to all the staff of Hotel Britannique for making our trip a truly lovely one! Au revoir...Jusqu'à la prochaine fois!

My husband and I recently took our first trip to France for our honeymoon and were so fortunate to find the absolute gem that is the Hotel Britannique. We found this hotel through reviews like this one on TripAdvisor when we booked our hotel several months in advance. When we arrived - we found a very attentive staff who had placed flowers and champagne in our amazing 2 room suite with a King bed, 2 bath spaces (one with shower & sink and the other with a toilet and sink...which was VERY convenient), a separate closet at the entrance with a safe, as well as a sitting area with a desk, coffee/tea/espresso maker, mini fridge and full sofa with 3 full windows that opened to the city view with lavender plants and old style iron railing. Absolutely beautiful! The bed was vey comfortable. The room was very quiet without street or hotel guest noise. The room and the common spaces were comfortable and made us feel at home and the hotel had great character! The hotel staff was attentive in every way - helping us with amazing restaurant choices and how to get around the metro. The location could not have been better - in the 1st arrondissement just one block of the Seine river and very easy walking distance to Pont Neuf, Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, etc. Also, with two metro stations visible from the hotel entrance, it was very easy to get anywhere in the city we wanted to go! I must say, we will return to Paris again & The Hotel Britannique WILL be our hotel of choice! THANK YOU to the Hotel Brittanique for giving us an amazing Honeymoon- Sincerely, Rebecca & Brian Phillips! We will be back!

Room Tip: If the Jr.Suite is available, it was Amazing.

Our family of four stayed at the charming Hotel Britannique for four nights in March. We had essentially identical rooms on the back side of the hotel. One was on the fifth floor with twin beds and one was on the fourth floor with a king bed. There was plenty of room and they were extremely quiet, comfortable and clean. The best thing about the hotel is the wonderful staff. They speak fluent English and were so helpful with dinner reservations for a member of our party with food allergy issues. Although the breakfast is an extra charge, it was delicious and an easy way to start the morning. The hotel is in a fantastic location with easy access to the Metro and within walking distance to Notre Dame and the Louvre. There are also many restaurants, bars and shopping just outside the door. We would stay here again.

Room Tip: We had a king room on the back side of the hotel. It was quiet and the size was fine. Nice bathroom.

Hotel Britannique is a very nice quaint hotel, centrally located. The hotel is well kept, the rooms are pleasant and not too small and the ones which face the back are quiet and pleasant. The staff is very friendly and helpful. We recommend the hotel and we would come again.

Room Tip: Take a room facing the rear.

We stayed here for four nights in March. What a gem of a hotel !! Very central for all the main attractions. The metro is on the doorstep as are great restaurants. The hotel itself is lovely, well decorated, very clean and quiet for Paris. The rooms are a little on the small side but it didn't bother us at all. The service from all of the staff was excellent. Overall a really lovely little hotel, we will return.

Room Tip: We stayed in room 52 on the 5th floor very quiet room

Don't take your cat as there won't be room to swing it ! Only joking, well a bit. The standard room we had was fantastic and looked out onto the street but was a little on the small side. It was however well decorated, very clean, and well maintained each day. I would definitely go back to this hotel but would consider paying slightly more for extra room. If you are traveling from the US then you will find the standard room minute!

Our room had air con and a balcony. The street noise is completely blocked out by the glazing.

The lift can take two adults and two medium suitcases, but you will need to know your lift companion well as there is no remaining space for personal space ! ;)

That said, don't let that put you off as its a charming central Paris hotel with its own charm. Reception staff all speak English and are very helpful. You are within walking distance of Notre Dame and The Louvre, both about 10 minutes. We also took a slow stroll along the Seine to the Eiffel Tower (60 minutes). You are also 3 minutes from the nearest station entrance (Chatelet).

If you are arriving by Eurostar, Chatelet station is only one stop from Gare Du Nord on RER Line B, but be warned Chatelet is a warren of walkway tunnels and you may not fancy that with heavy bags. We took a cab and it was 13e.

There are loads of fantastic restaurants within easy walking distance.

Its all about the city centre location really, plus a charming atmosphere and helpful staff. I would not swap that for more room and a quieter location on the outskirts.

PS get the "RATP Visit Paris by Metro" App. Tap in a destination, museum or whatever, and it looks at your current location and gives you the Metro info you need.

Room Tip: If you need space opt for a more expensive rooms. A room facing the back will have no view but will...

Conveniently located next to the train station, allows one to get from CDG to the center of Paris via a single train ride as well as access to many of the metro lines for travel.. Great restaurants in the area and a very nicely adorned cozy hotel make the start and end of the day easy and accommodated!
