“Wonderful oasis in the middle of it all”
Reviewed March 26, 2014

We came to Paris to a horrible hotel and were lucky to fine Aulivia just down the street and we immediately change to it. It was a great descition!!!
The four stars are really well deserved
The daytime front desk agent Morris was extremely helpful!!!.

I travel to Paris frequently and I'm always looking for hotels that are convenient and of a high value. The Aulivia Opera Best Western certainly fits that mode. It is very convenient to Gare du Nord and Gare Est. It is within easy walking distance of most tourist areas. The neighborhood is pure Paris with authentic food and bakeries.

Reasonably close to all the sights and Museums and within walking distance of various modes of transport. A small hotel, with a small well managed breakfast /bar facility serving a continental style tasty and adequate breakfast, beautifully kept and with charming and very helpful staff. A home from home atmosphere and one to which I would happily return.

I stay at the best westerns all through Europe, and these people there are soooo attentive to make my stay perfect!! I had my phone stolen before my arrival and the manager actually escorted me to the phone store. The help with the taxis, restaurants etc and I just can't say enough good things about them.

Simple but pretty stylish decor, friendly enough staff and in a nice area. I arrived at 22:30 and the location feels safe with nice cafes etc.

The room itself wasnt big but had everything I needed. The "night time" herbal tea provided was amazing and the Wifi connection great even on the 4th floor. The lift is fast and the small bathroom was nicely decorated with a great shower.

I only stayed one night but I'd happily stay again.

Start off by accepting the inevitable; the room will be small, the facilities basic, the continental breakfast functional.

OK, so that's your expectations managed. Now, the plusses...

The staff are excellent; friendly, helpful and professional. We were welcomed warmly, offered all kinds of assistance and advice and generally made to feel comfortable.

We were, however, allocated a room on the third floor next to the elevator. We complained and were moved immediately and, in the process, upgraded to a superior double. This was still small, but not as cupboard-like as the first room. The bathroom was fit for purpose, there was sufficient wardrobe space and, when closed, the windows blocked most of the street noise.

Breakfast is a rather minimalist continental buffet but everything is fresh and both the coffee and juices are good quality.

The hotel is located in a busy, buzzy area with plenty of bars and restaurants close by, as is an excellent jazz concert venue. The metro is three minutes away, but were comfortable walking to wherever we went; Montmartre, The Pompidou Centre, even across to the Left Bank (though we did return by Metro).

The facilities are worth three stars, the staff and location elevates it to four. Happy to recommend.

Room Tip: Low numbers on each floor are quieter
