“Lovely hotel, perfect location!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2011

This hotel is in a perfect location. Metro station directly across the road (not noisy) and Eiffel Tower within walking distance. The hotel was very clean, friendly English speaking staff, very helpful. The rooms are small but it didn't bother us at all, we were hardly there! The important thing is they were very clean and tidy and always maintained. Definitely stay again!

P.s the only downside is there is no fridge, it would be good to stock up on your own food rather than having to spend money eating out the whole time!

This is a well situated hotel, albeit around a 25 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower despite it's name. The general area outside is busy and there are plenty of bars and restaurants to be found should you wish to eat out.

Staff were very welcoming and the company obviously choose them with appropriate linguistic skills, their name badge confirming if they speak your language.

It's a busy hotel and has a younger clientelle. The underground car park is a good bonus and the food is typically Ibis and the menu extremely similar to it's sister hotels.

The bar is surprisingly small and is literally a garden shed in an outside area - but in fairness the hotel is undergoing a period of refurbishment which includes a new bar. That said, it would have been helpful if the staff had dried off the tables from the rain that finished an hour earlier as when we arrived for an after dinner drink, it was still rather wet, rendering the table and some chairs unusable.

The worst part of our stay was the en suite bathroom. It is minute. The whole room measures about 2m x 1m. Seriously, I measured its width as two measurements of my fingertips to my elbow! If you are on the large side you might fit into the shower but you won't have the room to clean yourself! It also wouldn't do any harm if the small oval window could open to allow some fresh air inside. This would save the hotel having to cut a 20cm gap at the bottom of the dividing door into the bedroom.

The room itself was clean and the bed comfortable as one would expect.

My only reason for not recommending it is the awful bathroom. There are so many hotels to choose from in Paris that I certainly would look elsewhere for the complete package.

11th - 15th July
This was mine and my boyfriend's first holiday away together and we saw no fault in where we stayed. Cambronne is a nice little area with bars scattered around, the metro on your doorstep and is in easy walking distance to the Eiffel Tower. We had a room on the 6th floor, which was no issue as there are elevators to each floor, including '-1' where there are luggage storage boxes. The security of the place was fine, there is no safe in the room but we managed okay. We decided for an extra 8 euros each per day to take breakfast, it may seem pricey but for a buffet it is completely worth it. Cleanliness of the room was spot on for us, no issue at all and is cleaned each day. My only issue would be that it appeared the hotel didnt provide drinking water, i did ask around in French however got a few blank stares, so we advise buying bottles to keep in the room. We booked in January and paid the 'Happy 20' rate so our room was as little as 60euros per night - perfect for the location and for students like us. On our first day of the trip we walked to the Eiffel Tower and then down the river bank to the Louvre, a long walk but well worth it if you want to catch your first glimpses of Paris' iconic buildings and monuments. Being just 17 and 18, we surprisingly managed fine, with the metro so close and a map in hand, it's just a simple metro trip to each of your destinations for the day.
Our most memorable meal was trying snails at L'Escargot Montorgueil. A fine dining restaurant (which is cheaper at lunch times) just past the Louvre.
We visited Paris on probably the busiest week - with Bastille day on the Thursday - however found it easy to find places to eat. The hotel was in a very convienient place for us to join in with the mass picnic on the Champs de Mars and later on witness the annual fireworks off the Eiffel Tower. We would highly recommend to all to visit Paris just for this spectacular event.
Overall we found no faults in this Ibis Hotel. We got what we paid for and had no issues regarding noise, cleanliness or the staff. We would recommend this hotel to all, particularly young couples for the price.

Dated building that needs refurbishing. Good location to access Eiffel Tower and metro. Air conditioning was not working. Small rooms have only basic facilities. Breakfast is excellent for quality and value.

Good value for money hotel for a leisure break. Rooms and bathromm are small but shower was superb and the bed large and comfortable. Breakfast was great value for 8 euros, plenty of choice and plenty of food, but do not expect an english breakfast. Evening meal in restaurant was good, served by friendly staff.. Only issue we had was with reception as checking in and checking out was problematic, each time we had to go away and have a coffee while they sorted it out. Also reception staff do not have any method in dealing with guests and seem to use an ad hoc basis, i.e. they will keep you waiting for several minutes and then deal with another guest who just walks up to the counter. Apparently they are going to open a new reception area so hopefully this problem will be rectified. Nevertheless I would not hesitate to stay there again for the price we paid.

This hotel was affordable and comfortable and in a fabulous location. I with they had accommodated for four people, we needed to get two rooms, but they were close by. There was a brasserie a few blocks away toward the Eiffel Tower (we could see it from our room!) and it was a great meal. We also parked the car for only 17 euros a day. Supermarkets and McDonalds were close by too! We took the Touristic bus and BateauBus you can catch very near the Eiffel Tower (about 3 blocks away). An excellent, reasonably priced stay.
