“Wonderful Hotel”
Reviewed November 18, 2009

We recently stayed one week at this wonderful hotel. I studied most hotels on Tripadviser before coming to the final decision of booking this hotel. We booked an executive room which,( although was a little more expensive), was well worth the extra. The only little fault that i could include would be, as mentioned on the review below is that the breakfast lady was not as nice as the other staff. She did not like it when her routine or table settings were "mucked up"..not very friendly at all, BUT, all of the other staff were exceptional. Would most certainly book this hotel again.

The hotel was exactly as we expected and as described except for the lady who ran breakfast, who took offence to my wife using the spoon on the table setting next to us.
The following morning she informed my wife that if she needed a spoon she should ask her (even though she was not around at the time), and as punishment she proceeded to clear the setting next to my wife, all quite surreal. All of the other staff were excellent. I would still happily stay at the hotel, only next time I would only use the utensils that were in front of me at breakfast.

Purpose of the trip was a leisure weekend in Paris to see the sights with minimal travel time from our hotel. We are both usually business travellers, so we wanted a quality hotel with some luxuries, and hassle free service so we could focus on sightseeing and have a good night's sleep at the day.

Booked though Hotelclub for Euro 245 per night. Hotel is a 20 minute taxi journey from Paris du Nord. Location is 5-10 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower. From our room #65 we could see the topmost spire of the tower. Hotel has chic boutique atmosphere. In a quiet neighbourhood (15th), discreetly signed, it’s almost as if you are a local. The hotel is completely renovated. Decoration and furnishings are high end (Versace bathroom, Hermes toiletries, Bang and Olufsen electronics, airconditioning/heating). Room is a very good size – two adults, two suitcases, two small backpacks – with room to move. Bed was comfortable. Housekeeping made the room up on a daily basis. Room has flat screen tv, safe (fits laptop), minibar (5 euro for one drink or for entire contents!), wardrobe and small writing table. Our room had two balconies (floor to ceiling windows) – which opened up the space and allowed fresh air. Bathroom was a decent size and modern with a rain shower plus handheld over the bath. There was also a bidet. Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was a little expensive at 14 euro – but produce was fresh. If you want to stay right in the middle of the night life or shopping – this is not the place for you. But if you want a luxe getaway with some Parisian character that is very close to amenities – this is perfect.

Took heaps of photos of the room (and also had a look at one of their rooms on Level 4) - but didn't bother uploading. Just look at their website - what you see there is what you get. We also hired a scooter and most attractions were 5-10mins away from the hotel.

Free wireless internet in room if you had your own phone or laptop. One public computer in the reception area - never saw a queue to use this computer.

We stayed here as a family of 4. The room was very small, but cozy and nicely furnished, plus there was enough storage space. A few hooks for coats in the room would have been good. Also the bathroom was tiny, only one sink for 4, but the bathroom was spotless and had a very good shower. We felt very comfortable here.

The metro is right around the corner and there are lots of nice cafes and restaurants nearby. The interior of the hotel is very stylish and proves of good taste of the owner. I liked the hotel a lot, only the atmosphere felt a little cool sometimes. I think a few candles in the lobby and offering coffee and wine in the afternoon would have made it a little more cozy after a long day of sightseeing.

Breakfast is good and offers a good variety of fresh products, the only thing I didn´t like was that our 8 year old was charged the full breakfast price, she eats 1 piece of toast!

This hotel is nothing less than perfect. It's conveniently located, the staff is friendly, the rooms are very nice and the price is reasonable. I did spend only two night at Atres Hotel but I'm pretty sure I'll get back soon. I love Paris and now I love this hotel too!

We recently enjoyed a trip to the Hotel Ares (family with 2 small children) staying in one of their deluxe rooms. The hotel was lovely, clean and friendly, very close to a metro station and only a short walk to the Champ de Mars and the Eiffel Tower. Our children adored this hotel and the staff were endlessly patient with their attempts to try out their French! The only negative thing I would say is that the breakfast, at €14 per person was very expensive. Having said that though, the hotel is located very close to a number of supermarkets, restaurants, bakers etc. so no real problem with going out to eat. All in all, our best holiday ever!
