“Hotel Ares - a credit to the Parisian tourism industry...”
Reviewed December 9, 2013

So after searching and searching the internet for that right hotel with the right price a friend of my mine suggested Hotel Ares..... what a choice!! I booked this hotel for two nights to celebrate my girlfriend's birthday and it was the best choice I ever made. Upon booking this hotel I immediately received an email from the receptionist asking me for any special arrangements for the room which was a nice touch. Communication to the hotel via e-mail was very impressive and very helpful.

Yes you may have read many reviews that the hotel was in a quaint back street, but that was a positive if anything. It was away from the hustle and bustle of the main street. The train station is exactly not even a five minute walk from the hotel, La Motte-Picquet. There is a Mc Donalds immediately next to the station and many, many Brasseries and cafes so you are spoiled for choice.

Upon arrival at the hotel we were happily greeted by the morning receptionist who was extremely kind and helpful. As check-in was 14:00 we arrived at approx 11.30am therefore she stated we could leave our luggage at the reception. The bag's were then tagged with our names and room numbers and kept in a room next door. The receptionist was extremely helpful in providing us tourist information and even stated if we came back at 12:30pm she could provide us early check-in, win! The lobby had it's own, unique Parisian touch for which you must explore when you have a moment. The other reception staff were fantastic and provided superb customer service.

We came back to the hotel approx 13:00 to find that our heavy bag's had already been sent to our room, perfecto! We were offered free WIFI for our stay which was super fast! We stayed in the executive room and it was fantastic. Gorgeous Parisian decor with a spacious double bed. His and her bathroom with a spacious bathtub and executive walk in shower. The bathroom had lit mirrors and a large heated towel rack which was extremely effective. The bathroom consisted of Versace tiling and provided Hermes shower products. Satellite TV was provided - Bang & Olufsen, impressive!

In all honesty, I searched hundreds of hotels for our two night stay and rest assured Hotel Ares lived up to it's expectations. It is evident that Hotel Ares thrive on customer focus and satisfaction and that is what you need when you are surrounded by grumpy French people! I would definitely stay again! Well done Hotel Ares!

We visited here late November/December 2013, we stated in room 34, the room was nice but very very small, during late evening upon our return from a restaurant we noticed a loud vibration noise coming from the room, this went on for over an hour and disturbed our sleep, the next evening exactly the same thing again it sounded like it was caused by water pipes in the building, not ideal if you want a good nights sleep. The next morning we informed staff however to out surprise they stated that no one else has complained, their was no compensation offered but they did state they would look into the issue. Apart from the terrible noise we had to endure at the ares out trip was great, I wouldn't use this hotel again as I found it very small and noisy.

We stayed at this hotel for 2 nights and absolutely loved our stay here. The hotel was not on the Paris map but when we got to the hotel, it was still early for check-in, I think we were greeted by the owner. She was very nice, friendly and very hospitable. She told us we can leave our belongings on the reception area if we want to go around the area. The hotel is literally walking distance to the train station and Eiffel Tower, around 10-15mins walk. It's located in a nice neighborhood, walking distance to good restaurants but if you prefer fast food, there's a McDonalds and a sushi place nearby. The room was very elegant and spacious, it seems like it's the typical idea of what a Parisian room should be. The wifi was free and very fast. The bathroom was well-decorated, from Versace tiles/tub to Hermes toiletries. You can also easily dry the towels, if you keep the towel rack plugged. The bed and room was spot clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We loved our stay here so much, we'll definitely come back and stay here whenever we are in Paris. Definitely, good value for money!

We loved the beautiful modern yet still Parisian design of the hotel. It's just beautiful. If you like small boutique hotels then you should like it here. If you are looking for a big hotel with a bunch of amenities look elsewhere. There's not even room service here, though there is a breakfast offered in a quaint little eating area on the ground floor. You have to remember that in Paris you get very little hotel for a lot of money, and this hotel is no exception, but the staff is excellent, the hotel is beautiful, and we found the location excellent. We liked that it is in a real little neighborhood not a big touristy area. There are plenty of places to eat on the same block as is the Metro station. I also appreciated the little things here like Hermes bath products (although I would have appreciated some hair conditioner) and Versace tiles. The staff was always friendly and extremely helpful in making suggestions for sight seeing (Montmarte!!!) and helping us navigate the city. A very romantic hotel, indeed. :)

We chose this hotel because it was close to the Eiffel Tower, but ultimately did not end up liking the location so much. The hotel was on a back street where no other cabs could find which made it frustrating at times though we did also take the subway which was easy to navigate. Our room was comfortable and quaint. Great shower and heated towel rack were a plus. Bed was comfortable and a full size mattress (not like other european hotels where two twin beds are shoved together or even separate). Overall a fine experience - the hotel staff were particularly good, pleasant and very helpful. Breakfast was OK. There were a lot of nice little cafe's in the area but I would look to stay somewhere more central next time.

All about location. It has a very good staff who are costumer oriented. Slightly noisy at time day time as there is a school very close. There are many cafes within a couple of blocks from the hotel. The metros were a big plus at la Motte-Picquet. We were in a small room but could manage.

Great location. Average sized rooms for the price. Located close to metro stations, which was a huge plus. Walking distance to the Eiffel tour and river. Best part was likely the morning and day staff. super friendly and helpful. Large range of prices and hotels in paris. I would stay here again.
