Mercure Paris Tour Eiffel Grenelle Hotel

The hotel is nothing fancy, and the rooms we stayed at were small, but it was all you could need for a comfortable, but not posh sleeping arrangement.

The advantage of the hotel is that it is right by the metro station, and by the Rue de Commerce (for small shopping). The hotel staff were friendly and they stored our personal belongings for us without an issues.

I have to say that the breakfast was the worst part of the stay - for 11 Euro you get next to nothing (croissants, cereal, yogurt, and what looks like processed meat). However, this matters little as there are lots of restaurants in the area where one can eat.

I stayed at this hotel from Sunday may 26th until may 27th. Pleasant room with a nice bath and a spacious balcony where you can sit pretty much in silence. Staff was very friendly and helpful. And the breakfast had an enormous variety of choices! A point of criticism is the elevator. There is only one, fairly small and especially in the morning it takes a lot of patience. Stairs are ok, but when you are on the 4th floor the wait can be a little annoying. But as said earlier, friendly staff, managing the English language very well and good rooms make up for this little nuisance.

As long as you don't enter this hotel expecting the Ritz you'll be fine. When we travel we don't expect to spend much time in the hotel, just a clean place to sleep and shower and we are good. We were in room 507. This hotel was not unclean by any means but as some other reviews state it is very worn. The furniture and walls were a bit banged up. Also no pictures? They had pictures in the hallway but not in the room, kinda weird. They did have nice bedding and the room was bigger than I expected. The bathroom seemed to be updated but there was no shower curtain so everything gets wet. IMPORTANT watch out for the knob in the floor (door stop, so it doesn't hit the toilet) it's amazing I didn't leave this place with any broken toes. The location of the hotel is perfect and we had a view of the Eiffel Tower. The Metro is literally right outside the door (can't hear it inside the room) and if you have an iphone there is a great app called paris metro, it's very helpful and makes using the metro very easy. On Sunday morning there was a market that opened right under the metro. So far the good points and the eh points seem pretty standard. There is one thing that did wig us out, when we opened the curtains we noticed there was quite a bit of black mold on the ceiling. This was the biggest downfall. So like I said before as long as you don't expect the Ritz your good.

Loved staying here! The hotel is close to everything, the metro is a stones throw away! Our room had a Eiffel Tower view! :-) the hotel is clean and all the staff we encountered were very helpful and polite, the rooms are nothing special but clean and no complaints, really is an ideal base to experience the real Paris! Loved our stay here! It we return to Paris which I'm sure we will then we will be stopping here! :-)

Great place for short stay. Ideal for getting metro as station outside the door. Market on Sunday is great. Stones throw away from Eiffel Tower and River Seine.. Friendly staff and good selection on continental breakfast

My son and I recently stayed ( May 6th -9th 2013) at this Accor chain of hotels. We had a standard double room , which came with a double bed , though it was more like a queen sized bed , with many pillows.. The temperature then in Paris ranged from low 15 degrees c (60F) ant night to a high of about 24c (75F). The cool function on the aircondition unit did not seem to cool , then again we did not really need it. The room is on the small size, though comfortable , well appointed , except an iron and board ( provided upon request). Coffee and tea and a complimentary bottle of water were provided. There is a small refrigerator which was very useful. From previous reviews we requested a room to the back of the hotel so we would not hear any street noise. it was very quiet on our third floor. The staff was friendly and exceptional. I would definitely recommend this hotel.
Line six of the metro is directly accross the entrance of the hotel , we found this to be very convenient. We arrived at CDG airport, took RER line B and connected on line six ( Denfert Rochereau ) to the Dupleix station (About 1hr 15 mins the most from the airport). There are escalators there , , ( handy if you have lots of luggage ) , in addition to stairs , a manned information booth along with a couple touch screens ticket kiosks. Across from the hotel is a Subway eatery for sandwhiches. There are plenty of places to eat , including a Mcdonalds 5 minutes away. Near the Mcdonalds is a Monoprix supermarket , both on Grenelle , right turn out of hotel. Google maps shows this quite well also
We went to the Eiffel tower at night and the easiest way was to turn left out the hotel then right on Rue Desaix which takes you to the southeast "grassy area" for a spectacular view of the tower. The hotel provided us with a very handy map , but I would suggest you get a couple maps from any tourist / information booth at the airport as they show the train routes more clearly. Overall we had a great stay at the Mercure on Grenelle . With Plenty places around to eat and drink , the proximity of the Metro , friendly staff ,makes this hotel one that I would stay at again.

Room Tip: Choose room to rear for quiet sleep. Or roadside but higher floors for partial view of the Eiffel to...

Hotel staff very helpful and provided us with a room with Eiffel Tower view upon arrival, at no request or extra cost. We paid for breakfast to be included and it was pretty good for cereal, yoghurt and pastries, but nothing special. The street it is located on is a 5 minute walk from the Eiffel Tower and the local metro station, Dupliex, is literally right outside the door. The restaurants on the street are mainly Italian though, so venture further out for the authentic French. Flat screen tv in the room, all very clean and tidy. Perfect for short break.

Room Tip: Ask for Eiffel Tower view
