“Great location”
Reviewed February 7, 2013

The Ibis Styles Paris Republique is a lovely place to stay and very close to the Metro and 3 stops from Gard du Nord, so handy for Eurostar visits.

The breakfast were great, nice choice, the room was lovely.. bed a bit high though, thought I might fall out of it in the night.

All the staff were courteous and nice and greeted me, apart from the one lady behnd reception.. she wasn't that pleasant or nice.. bless her.

All in all a great hotel and I would stay here again

We stayed in the hotel during New Years Eve.

The staff were nice and helpful. They even did give the rooms to us at 11 am on our arrival.

The hotel overall is old and narrow, but seems to have had some repainting during the recent years. So there is a lot of "design" around. The carpets were colourful and generally clean. But perhaps the pattern is good to hide some scratches and dirt as well.

The bed was comfortable and we had one room on the top floor which really was a little maisonette ending up with the queen size bed in a sort of tower high above the roof.

There was a complimentary and generous breakfast buffet down in the cellar.

We really liked the great connections one has by metro from the République station located just some steps from the hotel.

Basically I used the hotel just to sleep as in Paris you would be so busy doing a lot of things. I was expecting at least the basic amenities that a normal budget hotel offers, however I didn't find any. Location is great and only 100m to the metro station. Welcome was ok ! Wi-Fi and Breakfast included. The room was tight, the bed was so uncomfortable and the linen wasn't fresh. Breakfast was good. do not expect a buffet ! When I complained to the monsieur who was in the reception that I didn't sleep well, he replied back to me saying: I can't do anything for you. Good thing that I could leave my luggage with the reception until 6pm.

Very nice hotel for a 3 star. You get what you pay for and free wifi and breakfast is a plus! nice location, clean rooms (but basic)! would stay there again yes! The metro is almost right outside the door or you can walk along the beautiful streets of Paris.

We have just returned from a weekend in Paris. Having been before we knew most hotels are expensive and some, not worthy of the pricetag. Sadly, Ibis Styles Paris Republique is one of them.

We paid €50 per person, per night and whilst the overall standard of the hotel was average, it was nothing special and there were some fundamental flaws throughout which we feel did not match the price charged.

The hotel is approx a 20 min walk south from Gare du Nord, which is fantastic if you are like us and want somewhere close to the Eurostar. Having been to Paris times before and not particular travel snobs, we were pleased to find a mid-range hotel in close proximity to the station and well connected to other areas.
Our welcome from the reception staff was a little lackluster and not at all thorough, though the communal space is clearly well-kept. There are tea/coffee making facilities at all hours and free water and wifi.
The room itself (room 202) was badly situated on the stairwell so we unfortunately heard every movement of staff and other visitors alike (really bad when woken at 2.30am on the last night when having to rise at 5am). The staff and other guests were extremely inconsiderate of others sleeping and continued to talk and walk loudly for half an hr. The walls are VERY thin and noise from the roads can be loud so take earplugs. Nevertheless, if you're a heavy sleeper the room is perfectly fine, bathroom ok and all mod-cons like hairdryer and flatscreen TV.
We would say the only redeeming factor was the very generous and fresh breakfast from 8-10.30am daily. Plenty of fresh fruit, pastries etc on offer and all you can eat buffet. Very nice!

Overall, this hotel ticks the boxes if you want something middle of the road, generic and internationally friendly in terms of standard accommodation. It is not offensive and does what it says on the tin. However, you cannot help but notice that this is the poorer sister hotel of the general Ibis chain, which I suppose it is trying to do by appealing to those less willing to pay Ibis prices. Just be prepared for a broken nights sleep and not very friendly staff.

Room Tip: Ask for rooms towards the back of the hotel, away from the stairwell and main road. NOT room 202!

Stayed here for 1 night during a weekend visit to Paris. In general, Paris' hotel rooms are very small - and this hotel was an inexpensive choice, so my expectations for the hotel/room were not that high. However, I had a pleasant stay at this hotel. Basis amenities in the room however everything was clean and in working order. Bed was reasonably comfortable and the room could be made really dark at night, which I find important. There's free wifi at the hotel, as well as free coffee and tea during most of the day. Reception staff was friendly. Location of the hotel is really good, very close to Republique square and lots of bars and restaurants in walking distance, and because the metro is so close it's easy to visit other parts of Paris. Especially given the price I think this is good value for money and can recommend.
