That was so good value for money.

First of all I enjoyed to have the hotel in walking distance from the train station. my room was toward the river with everything you need! Breakfast was extremly well organized & lots of tasty and healthy food too! Everything was very clean - room & the public areas of the hotel! Staff at the front office was super nice and helped with everything.
I will definitely go back to a Ibis Style Hotel!

This hotel is in need of renovation. We saw two rooms as the first smelled like smoke so we asked to be moved and both had peeling and cracked paint and stained carpets.

Water pressure is a bit pitiful. The power went off at around 10 am but I'm not sure why. Decor is outdated.

The beds are the only new things in this hotel and those are great. This is the second time I've stayed at an Ibis with the new bedding and I have to say they definitely got those right. It's like sleeping on a cloud.

Breakfast was painful but it's only half the hotels fault. There happened to be two tour groups in addition to other guests down there our first morning so there was a lot of pushing and shoving just to get a croissant and a cup of juice.

There are no healthy options except the orange juice and apples. Everything else is bread, bread, bread. I'm lactose intolerant so my protein options were limited to ham since the only other thing they have is yogurt. I understand the continental/budget breakfast concept but would it be too much to ask for some fruit? At least 4 different types of bread and pastry, 3 cereals but one fruit? One non-dairy protein option? Too many carbohydrates.

If they would put a fresh coat of paint on the walls, remove that horrendous carpet, fix the ventilation in the bathrooms (too much steam buildup from showering), and maybe add some healthy items for breakfast I would give this hotel 5 stars.

It's not a bad hotel by any means. The location is convenient if your coming in by train and it's surprisingly quiet given the closeness to the train station. The rooms are just a bit of an eyesore and in need of renovation.

Location: Chateau-Landon station is literally next door to the hotel...and also only about 10 min. walk from Gare du Nord...supermarket, coin laundry, handful of restaurants nearby...so the location was great for us

Rooms: like most Ibis hotels, beds were comfortable...but room was bit small...the three single beds were so close together, one couldn't walk between them...it was like one big king size bed...room was clean, and there was a safe in the room...tv reception was pretty poor...

Staff: this is what kept me from giving a 5 star rating...the staff we interacted were polite for the most part...the problem is that they're simply overwhelmed by the number of people staying at the hotel...the staff-to-guest ratio makes it impossible for them to really go out of their way to do anything...the 2 staff who worked breakfast were re-stocking everything non-stop...and the front-desk staff were constantly bombarded with annoying questions and request to store/retrieve luggage...this is the management's fault for not using enough staff members...

Misc: Wifi worked well, but had to log-in every single time which was annoying...coffee/tea was offered only in the lobby (between 11am-10pm)...and the machine didn't work on one of the days (also, one machine for all the guests in the 150+ rooms)

overall, pretty satisfied with the stay...

Location next to Chateau Landon metro & easy walking distance to both Gare de l'Est and Gare de Nord makes the hotel worth considering. Our room was tiny and the door frame had pulled away from the wall. Despite room's small size, the air conditioner was unable to effectively cool the room and the street is too noisy to sleep with the window open. The addition of a sheet instead of only a duvet/comforter would help in this situation. I would like to complement the front desk staff, Louis, on his excellent assistance and all of the staff was able to converse in English much more effectively than we were able to do so in French. Breakfast was provided and was typical fare but plentiful

Room Tip: Rooms facing the street are noisy if windows are open but otherwise quiet for city rooms

Watch out! This is a bussines / low budget hotel. Don't expect too much from it. It's good as it is, but not too clean, no good internet, personnel not too happy to assist.

+++location (next to a subway station, get within minutes in the middle of Paris, ~10-15 min)
+ quality of bed (might be too hard for some)
+ fresh and free breakfast
+ free internet

--- personnel aren't too hospitable
--- breakfast is too simple, one one type of yellow cheese, one type of ham, some jam and milk and cereals, yogurt and apples, coffee and tea, NO eggs, no other cheeses or meat
--- extremely slow internet, horrible, useless
- very small rooms
- no hot water from time to time due to renovation
- lots of noise from the train station (East Station), which is right under your window, bed would vibrate when trains got in and out the station
- NO REAL TWIN ROOMS AVAILABLE

Dear guest,

Further to your comments on Trip Advisor, I was very sorry to read that your stay was not globally enjoyable . Our staff is normally much appreciated by the majority of our guests, I am very sorry if you felt otherwise and I will see with them to express even more friendliness with every guest.

Also I was very surprised to read your comment about the size of our room and the absence of twin rooms: before being an Ibis styles, our hotel was a Mercure hotel and as such it enjoys a lot of twin bedded rooms and much bigger rooms than the usual ibis kind.

As for breakfast, it's true in ibis styles we do not serve eggs and bacon but continental breakfast, the star product being a delicious freshly squeezed orange juice.

And last, as for the internet, we are changing into the fiber optic internet within a few days that will enhanced strongly our performance.

I hope that you will choose again ibis styles for a next stay.
With my best regards,

Raphael
