“Rude and unfriendly staff”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 1, 2013

The hotel staff were rude and unfriendly. The rooms are small with thin walls and medium cleanliness. It was ok for location. small rooms, small elevator, small and narrow corridor. No nice view from the window, at least from the second floor window. One may book a better hotel with a better location, friendly staff, better service...

4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 25, 2013 via mobile

Stayed for 3 nights in the second week of June in a triple room. IMO price of hotel was expensive but as were all the other hotels in the area. The front desk staff were very friendly. The room was adequate, it was clean and the bathroom was a bit small. Literally less than an inch from the sink and the door when you open and close it. There's an elevator but only one so sometimes you'd have to wait a bit but that's fine. It would be sometimes faster to walk down from the sixth floor than to wait for the elevator. There's plenty of food options nearby. There is a bakery a block away and a monoprix two minutes away. There are two metro stations sort of close by. Plaisance and Alesia, these two are different lines and in the opposite direction of eachother from the hotel. Both were about a 5 to 10 min walk from the hotel. It was easy to get to the major destinations if you don't mind using the metro. We took a taxi to Gare Montparnasse and cost about 13 euro. Overall, the hotel was good and you're really only there to sleep as Paris was a wonderful city.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

I recently stayed two nights in Montparnasse Alesia.
The room was not large, but not too small. No frills, but a nice bed.
A bathroom with a good shower, but no toiletries.
There is a lift, although I took the stairs.
Breakfast is adequate, continental style. If you are expecting full English breakfast, you will be disappointed.
Front staff were not particularly friendly, but not unfriendly either.
The best aspect is the shopping in Rue d'Alesia, but this is high street store shopping, not designer label shopping
The hotel is not too far from metro station Plaisance and a little further from metro station Alesia.
All-in-all: an average hotel in central Paris.

Good location with essential shopping stores nearby. The front of house staff were rude and impatient but could understand and speak English well. Breakfast was ok- no hot water for tea because the urn was broken. Decent size room and was very clean. Heard my neighbor return to their room at 1am in the morning and heard the door shutting loudly, conversation through the wall and then the shower running: perhaps loud and rude neighbors but the walls are so thin I can hear the floors creaking from the next room as I write!

Rue d'Alesia is a nice area with lots of shops and the 14e arrondissement is still a true Paris district without too many tourists, though only some metro stops away from the touristic main sites.
The hotel is clean but in summer, we had a room without air conditioning. The other couple with whom we traveled had it but the room was on the street side and very very noisy. The rooms were not large. Breakfast is good. Price are average.

Room Tip: Definitely choose a room which is not on the street side. Even with good windows, you'll hear th...

3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 10, 2012

After having a bad experience with a hotel 2 blocks away that we had to move right away, we found this lovely hotel that were open to give us the room first thing in the morning, the rooms are very nice, big, new carpet, nice bathroom, room 15 has a nice view to the patio so less noise to your room. AC included. Bathroom a bit tight but ok. Comfortable beds. Small closets for being a triple room, we managed to be just fine. Breakfast is 9 euros per person, I recommend you take a right and walk a block to get your breakfast at a store 9get your money worth). Post office just across the street and metro just a 5 minute walk (pernerty), or alessia metro at 10 min walk. Make sure you get your paperwork on the first day, we had a little problem they wanted us to pay an extra day, they have it messed up, owner was yelling at the receptionist in french, no idea but they were loud in front of us, the costumers, bad bad managing. We ended up paying what we agreed upon check-in. They gave us a lot cheeper rate up front (100 euros for a triple room a day). Call and ask.

Room Tip: modern decor, good enough for 4 days. Helpful receptionist.
