“Cozy and well situated -- a bargain!”
Reviewed September 30, 2011

This hotel is located on a quiet street a few blocks away from the Trocadero and the Eiffel Tower in one direction and the Arc de Triomphe in the other. Metro stations within easy walking distance.

This is a tiny hotel. The rooms are small and the bathrooms are very small. A shower, toilet and sink are crammed into an impressively small space. The bathroom door couldn't open all the way because it hit the foot of the bed. If you have a lot of suitcases, you'll probably feel cramped. This isn't the place to stay if you plan to spend a lot of time in the room.

However, as a base of operations to see the city, it's perfect. There aren't many other places of this quality that will cost less. The rooms and the hotel in general were clean, the elevator was slow and creaky but it got the job done. Narrow corridors, but what more do you need. A nice spacious, brightly lit lobby with a helpful staff that tolerated my ancient French and spoke English when we needed it. A small sitting area in the lobby where we sat in the evening to play cards before dinner.

Several brasseries and restaurants within a few blocks (although many of them were closed on the weekends). Our favorite was Brasserie Boissiere, just one block away. We became friendly with the owner and went back there several times during our five-day stay. Our room faced the courtyard, so it was mostly quiet except for one night when a neighbor had a TV or radio playing all night long. The bed was a good solid double with duvet. There was a small garment cabinet, a flat-screen TV with plenty of channels suspended above it. Free and reliable Wi-Fi.

This is a hotel we would definitely return to on future trips to Paris. It's a great find.

Room Tip: Courtyard side probably a little quieter than street side.

Although the room was small according to my wife i found it more than adequate. Location was close to both Metro and the many attractions. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely cafe close by, The Corner Cafe, staff there were lovely and went out of their way to be helpful, spoke very good English! In the hotel we came across 3 different members of staff, 2 men on front desk and a lady in the breakfast room, all were friendly and spoke English but the older man on front desk had much more time for us and less distracted. The lady in the breakfast room was great!! The room was very small but well equipped., they provided soap, shower gel, shampoo, shower cap, sewing kit, shoe shine kit and there was also a fridge in the room. The fridge was filled with soft drinks, which were 4 euro's each, but just down the road was a supermarket where you could buy beer for 1.15 euro per can, coke for about 4 euro's for 4 small bottles and wine for a lot less than the cafes. There is no bar or restaurant at the hotel. I would stay here again as the location was amazing and the price was great.

I stayed at this hotel on my own recently as I was meeting up with friends in Paris. I chose Ambassade because it was close to my friends hotel and I got a really good price through expedia. I was surprised at the high quality of this hotel, it is exceptional value for money. The room was very clean with a modern bathroom. The staff were really friendly, they recommended nearby restaurants and helped to make dinner reservations. Free wifi was an added bonus. This is a great hotel if you're on a budget.

If you stay here I recommend Le Saint-Didier for dinner. It's off the main street and therefore attracts a local crowd. The food was excellent.

Wonderful - what else to say. Online booking was very easy. Rooms while small, were charming and well appointed. Loved the old style windows, which actually opened !
A/C worked liked a charm in the rooms. Rooms were spotless - super clean as were the linens and towels. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Elevator was tiny, but typical of those in boutique hotels in Europe. Location was very very good too - 10 minute stroll to the Arc de Triomphe, 15 minute walk to the Eiffel Tower, 2 blocks to the nearest subway station. Choice of several restaurants and cafes within a 2-3 blocks. Would recommend this to anyone staying up to 4 nights. While lovel and well appointed the rooms may be a bit small for an extended stay. Overall great little place in the heart of Paris.

Small Rooms...of course...it's Paris...

The breakfast was pretty small, but it worked.

The staff was awesome...we tried to fumble our way through French and they let us. :)

Metro station was close, but we actually walked from the Hotel to Notre Dame, Arc De Triumph, and Eiffel Tower...

We may have walked like 10 miles that day, but we loooved it....

The hotel is in a safe neighborhood as well.

We didn't spend much time in the hotel as we were in Paris for our first time and really just used the showers. :)
