“Cheap and cheerful”
Reviewed June 2, 2013

For our stay in Paris we booked to stay in Vintage, and the hostel does exactly what it says on the tin. Rooms were small, but as a hostel, you're only really going to use the room for showers and sleeping. Breakfast is provided by the hostel and the lobby provides free wi-fi for all guests. Good location in terms of proximity to metro stations as you have 'Anvers' 2 minutes up the road or 'Gare Du Nord' 5-10 minutes away from the hostel. Our room's cleanliness was average and everything worked in good order. Staff were very friendly and approachable if you had any problems or questions and were happy to help with information if you needed to plan a day out in Paris! Overall, an enjoyable stay!

No WiFi in the rooms and it didn't work on our cell phones in the lobby. The only plus side was its close proximity to Gare du Nord station and Anvers metro stop. The local streets are not charming, don't stay here if you want to walk out your door and feel line you're in "romantic" Paris...stay in Montmartre. The staff was friendly. Breakfast is included but it is nothing to write home about. We went and bought our own food and ate it in the dining room instead. Showers are so small you can barely lift your arms to wash your hair.

We booked for a stay here in January of 2013, less than a week prior to our arrival we received an email telling us that for unforseen circumstances our room was no longer available to us and we had been relocated to a nearby hotel with a greater star rating for the same price. While this may seem good, it was actually bad. The quaint hotel we were moved to was perfectly adequate, but as 2 young people looking for a fun time in Paris, it was not the accommodation we were looking for or expecting.
The email told us to come to Vintage hostel first if we liked and they would direct us to our new hotel. We did this and we were greeted very warmly, offered free croissants, we were able to use their wifi and were given clear directions to the new hotel.
Overall unhappy that we were unable to stay here and unhappy that we were moved less than a week before our arrival.

The location is nice. close to several attraction. We stayed in a triple shared room with bathroom. The room was tiny. But I guess that can't be helped since it was quite cheap. They have complimentary breakfast which is a plus. It was only old breakfast but still good. the staff was friendly. Have wifi but only in the lobby.

Have made 2 visits to the Vintage hostel, had private rooms with toilet both times, 1 with double bed and 1 with bunkbeds, rooms are basic but OK, the bunk beds are a little unstable but OK if you don't move around too much, some rooms have balconys.
Breakfast is good considering it is a hostel/budget hotel and will get you started for the day, but don't expect bacon and eggs.
The location is the best feature, 5 minutes walk from Gare du Nord and 5 minutes walk to Sacre coeur and the surroundings are nice, it feels like Paris.
So if you are on a budget and don't plan to spend your visit in the hotel room enjoying roomservice, this might be the place.

Room Tip: Rooms with balcony are nice but faces the street and there might be some noice.

We liked staying in this hostel, the staff is friendly and helpful, wi fi is a little slow in the morning and around dinner time (a lot of people using it), and as we were at the 5th floor, in the room wi fi connection was little low. The room was very clean and comfortable - we were in a private room with bathroom and a quite little french balcony.
A place to recommend for sure!
