Great location, just a short stroll to the subway station. Minutes to major attractions. Great internet connection compared to other hotels in Europe. Smaller room, but expected due to central location, besides, you probably would only go there to sleep anyways!
Down rue Cadet you find a little market and many small restaurants where you can find exquisite food. In fact, the best paella we had in Europe was in one of those little restaurants. Would love to return soon!

Rooms small, but aren't most European hotels? Arrived before check in time, and we stored our luggage in an unlocked, unattended room. That kind of made me nervous. Triple room was small, but suffice. It was away from the street, so no street noise. We were awakened by probably 10,000 birds squawking in the AM, I've never heard anything like it. Breakfast was EXCELLENT, and service was attentive, and felt welcomed. Front desk staff seemed friendlier in the evenings. Day staff was abrupt and sometimes unhelpful. Location was near Metro, and a small grocery store few doors down was convenient. There also were a scattering of cafes/bars very close. But, most of this street seemed depressed, with businesses closed. Overall, hotel was clean and simple, but the area was kind of shabby. Free WI FI, a plus!

We have been staying at the Opera Cadet for years and have never been disappointed. Friendly staff, great location, nice clean rooms. The hotel doesn’t seem to change; and that is good (a year or more ago they added free Wi-fi in all rooms)

Rue Cadet has certainly changed – each year there are fewer and fewer old shops, replaced by cafes.

My mum and I spent two nights at the Opera Cadet last month. This hotel ticked all the boxes: 15min walking distance from the Gare du Nord (Eurostar break!), Cadet metro stop opposite the hotel, walking distance from the Louvre (long walk to the river but doable), clean and comfortable room, excellent and varied breakfast buffet (delicieux mini pain au chocolat, croissants), kind and helpful staff at Reception who printed out a map for us (Longchamp shop), handed a list of recommended places to eat nearby and offered directions to a supermarche where to find a toothbrush! The area is great, with many places to eat and close by supermarkets, it also makes a nice walk to the Sacre Coeur and Le Pigalle (very chic!). I liked the fact that our room was ready, even when we got there well before two, and that check-out was at 12pm. As we had lots of spare time before our train back to London, we left the luggage in a safe room at Reception without any problem. On the negative side, I made the mistake of buying a small bottle of mineral water from the bar when we went back to the hotel at night and it cost me 2.50 euro; my advice is buy the water or any drink from the shop opposite the entrance or from a supermarket (they close quite late), it will definitely be cheaper!
Also, at the moment, there are road works going on at rue La Fayette and the sidewalk is not in the best state: beware if you are carrying a suitcase with wheels along the street, it's bumpy! One of the wheels of my small suitcase is still somewhere in Paris!

We are a couple who travellled with another couple and their 3 young children. We had a very comfortable double ,clean and tidy, the hanging space is in a seperate cupboard nearer the door , lovely shower, toiletries and hairdryer. No tea / coffee making facilities and the coffee at breakfast was pretty dire! Hey ho! Our friends had the room next door with a double bed, two singles and a cot, plenty big enough with a seperate toilet and bathroom and again very clean and comfy.
Rooms were at the front of the hotel and were a little noisy, people shouting in the evening and scooters raciing about, nothing to late though, and the bulders over the road somewhere started their diggers by about 8a.m, but to be honest you needed to be awake by then in order to get to breakfast and get out and about!!
Breakfast was not great, but ok, fruit , cereal and breads and cakes. Could have done with some cold meat / cheeses, sometimes there were boiled eggs though!!
Good location, we walked here easily from the Eurostar station, and the metro stop Cadet was just at the top of the road , which was very easy to use.
Restaurants in area all ok, usual Paris prices and very similar menus everywhere we went, but to be honest we didnt go for top end places with 3 kids in tow. Beer very expensive everywhere, wine much better value.

I chose this hotel because of the location. Which was great and lovely restaurants around you and also it is easy to get to the main attractions. The only down fall is the rooms on the small side and no where to hang your clothes. Breakfast was plentiful and filling. But it was a bit of a manic affair not enough room for guest so every morning it as the staff trying to find somewhere for you to sit and eat. I can not fault the staff as they were really helpful and tried there hardest to serve and help you. So thank you to them all.
