Checked in and was upgraded to a suite type room 301, as we have Marriott Platinum status. Huge room divided by entry hall, living room and bedroom with bath. Nice view of Blvd. Haussmann from the large windows. The bathroom in this suite was very small considering the rest of the room, but nicely appointed. Now as nice as all this was, we could never successfully access internet in this room! Four days of reporting this and no resolution. We had to leave the room to log on. Very frustrating. The Concierge Lounge was adequate, but not to the level of other major city hotels. This definitely needs work. We enjoyed our time here, nevertheless, and want to mention the Concierge, Thierry, who was so kind and helpful.

Terrible Marriott. Worst Marriott stay in Europe. Unfriendly staff, hotel is hot so have to open windows to balance temp. Bad executive lounge - poor food and limited hours that they actually serve anything. Apparently a lot of unwritten rules they follow in the lounge. You can feel the subway vibrations in your room that will wake you up. Beds are indented where people have slept. Save your money, there are better hotels in Paris for less.

Went there to celebrate my 60th birthday. On arrival we were told they had upgraded us to an executive suite. As VIP guests we we're allowed access to the VIP lounge where from 5.30 till 7.30 all drinks and nibbles were free. All drinks were available and you helped yourself. Happy hour gone mad. I believe you can pay extra for this privilege but it was complimentary for us. Lovely. Breakfast could also be taken there and there was ample choice. The room was large. Big marble entrance with a large bathroom on the left. Doors led to the bedroom, very large four poster bed. Sitting area. Flat screen t.v. Nespresso coffee maker. Two large wardrobes. Iron. Hairdresser. Bathrobes and slippers. Immaculate. This was on the 4th floor facing the front of the hotel with a small balcony. Could not fault the room. Concierge was very helpful recommending and booking some delightful restaurants for us. Hotel is very close to the amazing opera house, so good access to everything. Would not hesitate to recommend this hotel and we would return. Thank you for happy 60th memories.

Room Tip: We were upgraded to an executive room on the 4th floor. Facing the front so could see the Eiffel Tow...

I have been traveling to Paris 6-8 times per year, and our office is near the Opera. The Ambassador is my usual hotel, and I've stayed here about ten times over the past two years. It was a Radisson Blu when I started traveling and is now a Marriott. (The only things Marriott changed when they took over, as far as I can tell, are the uniforms, the points program and the amenities in the room). The location is excellent. The hotel itself is old and a little worn down, and the rooms are a bit small, but it's much better than other hotels in the area at a similar price. A few of the rooms on the upper floors, fronting on the Boulevard Haussmann, have views across the rooftops of Paris to the Eiffel Tower. Breakfast is very good, though there's a Starbucks a block away and plenty of bakeries with fresh croissants nearby if you prefer a lighter breakfast.

Room Tip: Upper floors facing the Boulevard Haussmann have views of the Eiffel Tower.

Arrived at the hotel to be told we wont have a king bed even though we requested one, the receptionist told us that they would change the mattress for us. This never happened. Room was small hard to move around and you can hear everything in every room around even conversations. The wine opener in the room was broken went to the bar nobody seem to be working there then went to reception waited about 5 minutes for someone to come to the desk. Finally they said room service would deliver a new one straight away this never happened. went back down after waiting over an hour and still nobody at the desk this is surely cant be a Marriott standard.Breakfast was good but no explanation from the hostess would suggest having some pancakes or types of eggs offered. The coffee machine was out of milk my girlfriend tried to make a hot chocolate clearly the machine was broken but the waiters just looked at her trying to struggle with it. Very disappointed with this hotel. Especially because it was for our anniversary. Room was also very dusty.

The first leg of our European tour was 3 days spent at this hotel. I have to say it is one of the best hotels we have stayed at. Our basic room was still very opulent, extremely clean and more than comfortable. Sleep quality was the best we've ever had with the mattresses and pillows fantastic...it was also very quiet which is probably our top requirement given we a light sleepers. Breakfasts were great...nothing to complain about there. Only negative is the pricing of drinks at the hotel e.g. 7 euro for a bottle of water! All reception staff were great, spoke English well and went out of their way to assist us when we needed it. Location is good and within walking distance to the many cafes, restaurants and bars as well as some tourist sight seeing locations e.g. the Opera House is only a block away and we also walked to the Louvre (easy 20min walk). This hotel made our first trip to Paris a highlight.

This a well located hotel. It is a really old property and needs some real improvement. I first checked into a regular room, which was pretty small and gloomy. Then I upgraded to a Jr Suite and it was a lot better. Bathroom was just ok, bath amenities less than ok. No water pressure in the shower and consequently a baaaad shower experience. Breakfast was just ok.
So, there's nothing extraordinary about this place.
Maybe I would come back, depending on price.
