“Christopher is amazing!!! Give him a raise!!!”
Reviewed May 3, 2014 via mobile

I have never stayed at the Hotel Galileo, but after working with Christopher to surprise some friends of ours that were traveling for the 1st time to Paris, we will definitely be visiting soon just to meet Christopher. He was a pleasure to work with and took care of all the details of surprising our friends with Champagne and Chocolates in their room upon arrival. Thank you so much for helping us with our unique requests and making it surprisingly easy. They loved it!

Thanks,
Brian C.

Having used Tripadvisor for many years to choose hotels and restaurants, I finally registered after this trip so that I could post this review. We arrived at 10 a.m on the Saturday morning after a very early flight, Christopher, the concierge, could not have been more friendly or helpful, he managed to sort a room even at that early hour. The location of the hotel is fantastic, the room was large and comfortable, the breakfast was great and the service was wonderful.

We've stayed in this hotel a dozen times over the last 16 years, and always found it ideal for our needs. It has evolved into a very good 'boutique'-quality hotel, with elegant decorative touches, excellent bedding and bathroom facilities, and a very welcoming, positive staff (especially Christopher, who is a great source of information and good humor!). One recent reviewer complained that rooms are small, but we had plenty of room for an adult couple with 4 large suitcases -- and seriously, what do you expect for a hotel this elegant literally steps away from the George V Metro stop (just below the Arc de Triomphe) on the Champs Elysees, and at this price? (We've stayed in some of Paris's best hotels, including notably Le Meurice, where we found the rooms were also smallish compared to American standards, but not at all surprising given that this is some of the most valuable real estate anywhere in the world!) For us the combination of comfort, quality of staff, and location, this is one of the best places we've stayed anywhere in Europe; we've often recommended it to our friends living in France, and can recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone looking for a good experience in Paris.

Positives
- Location - Take a right from Hugo Boss at Champs Elysees and within 2 mins walk your at the Hotel. Air France Bus drop off is a 5 mins walk from the Hotel and Metro is also the same distance
- People - Fantastic set of staff, Christoper and Robin - Very helpful and cheerful.

Negatives
- Size of the room - I have stayed in small rooms in Europe but this is probably the smallest room I have ever stayed in. We were two people and there was not much place to keep our bags as well. The bathroom was quite small. I am not a big guy (about 5'11) but I was not able to lather my feet as the shower area was very small.

- Wifi - Poor wifi connection, keeps disconnecting

- Service - It seems to be a nice family run place and not a hotel. For e.g. if you have a problem at night, they dont seem to have a technician to solve the problem. There was a problem with my TV remote and it wasnt fixed throughout my 4 day stay.

April is considered as winter in Europe and the Air Conditioner is normally not switched on. I understand this, but Hotel Galileo didnt even have / provide a Fan. The room became excessively stuffy

Unless you want to stay at a affordable place at Champs Elysees, I wouldnt bother with this hotel.

Room Tip: The classic double is veryyyyyyy small!

Dear Prajit,

We thank you for your comment and we apologize for all the inconvenience caused during your stay!
It's true that we had a problem with the Wifi during few days, but it's fixed now and, yes, we don't have a technician at the hotel at night (like all the hotels in Europe)!
It's strange that I didn't heard any complaints from you during your stay because I always try (like all the team of the hotel ) to do my best for all the guest staying in our "Boutique Hotel".
It's really important for us to create a special ambiance "like at home".
Do not hesitate to contact me directly for your next visit and I will be pleased to offer you something special during your stay!
Best regards

Just stayed the weekend at this very lovely hotel and found it to be excellent at every level. We arrived at the hotel at 10AM, dropped our luggage to go to breakfast and by noon they had checked us into both rooms which was a very pleasant surprise. The rooms were very clean, updated, and very comfortable beds. Breakfast was just right and the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Christopher at the desk gave us all the best recommendations on sights to see and made our dinner reservation which turned out to be our best meal in Paris. The hotel is just a few steps from the Champs Elysees which makes it very convenient to shopping, the metro, and many restaurants. This hotel gives you the feeling that they really care to make your stay as best as it can be, and it makes all the difference between an okay stay and an overall excellent stay. Thanks Galileo for meeting and exceeding all the great reviews you certainly deserve.

The hotel was everything we expected from the TripAdvisor reviews. Christophe is a cut above your standard concierge and obviously really cares about his hotel.
We stayed on the 5th floor at the back of the hotel and had plenty of room and a very quiet time.
You can walk to pretty much all of the standard Paris attractions if you want to or take the metro from George V if you prefer.
Very nice hotel. We would definitely stay here again.

The hotel was in a perfect location, so easy to get right to Champs Élysées and start sight seeing. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and spacious. Also Christopher from the front desk was excellent! He provided us with whatever we needed. The staff members were so friendly and helpful. Overall an excellent, easy stay. Would recommend to anyone in a heartbeat.
