Potato Pete: We stayed here on the weekend of the Paris Marathon. It was easy to find, between Anvers and Pigalle metro stations, although we walked from the Gare du Nord after arriving via Eurostar, which was manageable, even with a couple of bags. The staff were extremely helpful, especially Donovan, who helped us with loads of different queries. We asked for a room at the back (côté cour) so that we didn't get the noise from the main road, and the room was absolutely fine: a fair size with a little balcony, TV etc. In the evening there was lots within walking distance: some touristy shops, bars/restaurants and, not surprisingly, the Sacre Coeur, which looked amazing as ever. The building work is now finished and this hotel was a good place to stay, which served our needs perfectly.
Doctor Carrot: The only downside was the lack of a bath, which would have been handy after running 26.2 miles.
Pete: True, but that's not something which you do every day. Thankfully. They also have a locked room where you can leave your luggage: this was really handy on the final day, as we had to check out of the hotel in late morning but our Eurostar back was not until late afternoon.
Pete and Carrot say: A reliable place to stay in a lively, convenient and affordable area.More
