Stay: 7 nights in July 2014.
Staff: English-speaking. Very friendly and helpful.
Room: Apartment, on 8th floor. True double bed & bedding. Pleasing, modern feel.
Good work desk & chair with accessible power outlets.
Noisy for sleep quality, because although the hotel is located at the quiet end of Avenue Rachel, it is close to Rue Caulaincourt which carries quite a bit of traffic. Curtains block out the light very well.
Small balcony with table & chairs.
Bathroom: Bath/shower combo. Separate toilet.
Amenities: Safe, room fan.
Kitchen: Fridge with freezer section, stove top, microwave, dishwasher, toaster, and well-stocked with cutlery and utensils. There is very good Monoprix supermarket on Blvd de Clichy diagonally across from the Moulin Rouge for supplies.
I had the impression when I booked this apartment style of room, that normal daily hotel house-keeping would not be included, however my room was made up every day.
Laundry: Located on Level -1. Get tokens from reception – 5 Euro for washer (with automatic system for detergent included), 4 Euro for dryer (60 mins).
Roof-Top Terrace: Off 8th floor. Nice place to relax, with great view over Montmartre & Sacre Coeur.
TV: Smallish LG LCD TV on wheels which is handy. Had pay channels (“chaine payante”) but I couldn’t see any way to buy them.
TV Channels (English): BBC World News, CNN, DW Europe.
TV Channels (Sport): Sport+.
WiFi: Free with my booking. Easy login, worked fine (no blocking).
Breakfast: Not included in my booking. 12 Euros for an adult.
Location: Avenue Rachel is off the somewhat seedy Blvd de Clichy, with the famous Moulin Rouge just around the corner. Didn’t feel unsafe at any time, but best to keep your guard up at night. Very close to Paris Metro (subway) station Blanche on the M2 line, and station Place de Clichy on the M2 and m13 lines.
