This hotel is really amazing. We had a superior room with a view of the Eiffel Tower (8th floor I think). The room was very clean, modern and comfy. The staff was very friendly and helped whenever we had any questions. Very close to the underground station and to all main attractions. We haven't tried the breakfast or the bar, so no opinion about that. Try to get a room with the amazing view of the tower, it will definitely make your stay perfect!!!

Room Tip: 8th floor, superior room with free drinks and the view over the rooftops of Paris!

Although not a bad hotel, it lacks some of the features you would expect from a Mercure! My partner and I stayed around a week around when the temperature in Paris reached the high 20's. We stayed in a privilege room on the top floor and walked into it on our first day to find it quite warm and muggy inside. I turned on the air conditioning but after around 30mins nothing had changed, meanwhile a maintenance man had come past the room stating he had heard there was an issue with the window handle. I advised there was no problem with the window but the a/c wasnt working. He advised me that the A/C unit was heating only, and had no ability to cool. I was shocked to think that a 4 star hotel didnt have a heating and cooling a/c unit. Like others have said even the Ibis next door has full A/C control in each room! We opened this window to cool the room a little and although this helped it by no means fixed the problem. My partners parents were also staying at the time on a lower floor, and their room was much nicer, and more comfotable than ours even though it was a lower standard class room. Although we got free drinks in the mini bar each day for being in a Privilege room this was no where near worth the extra money we paid. The hotel is also in a very old building and you can tell it has aged more and more over the years. They have done recent refurbishment works to the rooms, however this seems to have been a cheap fix and just a re carpet and paint with new furniture. Its quickly showing its age even since the refurb and it more or less needs a total redesign! In terms of its location, central with easy access to the Metro and Gare Du Nord station a short 5min drive away. Its a very short walk to the Moulin Rouge and some decent restaurants are nearby so all in all not a terrible place to stay. I would recommend it for people looking to stay in this area but I probably wouldn't stay again myself as there are better areas to stay in.

Room Tip: Choose a standard room on a high floor

No AC...told to open the windows. When the windows were open it was so noisy we could not sleep. Staff was not accomidating. Horrible room too, slept on a Murphy bed. Not what the picture depicted. Switched hotel after first night...stay at the L'Hotel Du Collectionneaur by the Arc de Triohphe. Not a good area! Lots of shady people.

While temperatures in Paris reached 29 degrees, the air conditioning was OFF, despite this assurance in the room itself: 'Vous avez la possibilite de regler la temperature de votre chambre'. We were offered a fan instead (to circulate the warm air!). The management took no responsibility, and meanwhile the Ibis next door was fully air-conditioned. Stay there instead at two thirds of the price.

The hotel is definetly my fovourite. This was the second time we stayed here. It is located near Place du Clichy close both Gare du Nord and Gare d'Est train stations. Very near from Moulin Rouge ( 5 minutes walk) and Sacre Coeur(20 minutes walk). The rooms are very clean and of decent size with all basics. There are also tea/cofee making facilities. People at the reception are very friendly. There are direct buses to places like Louvre or Eiffel Tower, just ask for numbers at the reception. I would definetly recommend this hotel. It is not a 5 star hotel but it is good value, it is situated in a good location and it is comfortable

Room Tip: Wonderful view at seventh floor

We stay here regularly as a well placed hotel opposite le Gare du Nord. Very clean and well appointed, with excellent breakfast, this hotel is really handy if you come in to Paris on Eurostar. It is right by the Metro and also the major bus routes around Paris. Within easy walking distance of Montmartre and all that has to offer, this is an excellent base for any Paris visitor.

When you go to Paris you expect the be underwhelmed by the size of the room and the service. Not with this hotel. We selected the Superior Room and it was worth the little extra. Our room (743) had a view over the rooflines of Paris towards the Eiffel Tower, the luxury of a separate toilet and a well renovated room overall. Internet is a little annoying for those with mobile devices, but I understand why it is this way and once connected it was acceptable, especially as it was free. What was not so great was the lack of an included breakfast. At over 170 euro per night it wouldn't hurt to throw in breakfast. However we found a lot of variety in the local restaurants for significantly less than the 18 euro being charged here.

Location is fantastic, just a short walk to the number 2 metro line and 300 meters from the Moulin Rouge. While never quiet in Paris this hotel was as quiet as you could hope for and well soundproofed. Even though our last two nights were in a fully booked hotel there was no sound from the neighbouring rooms.

Highly recommended and would stay there again when we return to Paris.

Room Tip: Go for the higher floors as the rooms are better and will have some form of view.
