“Small Hotel Perfection”
Reviewed June 24, 2014

My wife and I just completed the most wonderful ten day stay in Paris. After much searching, I selected the Hotel Daniel; a member of Chateau and Estates. I'm always anxious when I select a new hotel. My expectations were met and exceeded at this beautiful boutique property. As we were staying ten days we wanted to have a suite and a small terrace. We had three sets of French Doors that opened to the fresh air; the two from the living room opening onto a narrow balcony with a table. The day we arrived the weather was perfect and the doors remained open until dark.

The hotel staff met every one of our needs, including a visit with a doctor who arrived on a Sunday morning within one hour of our request. Reservations were made and confirmed, directions happily given and doors to the taxis always held open . Freshly squeezed orange juice and beautiful tea service to start the day.

But most of all we were treated with respect and knew the staff was there to make our visit more enjoyable. Can't wait to return.

What a hidden gem - 2 blocks off Champs Élysées, but right in the middle of everything that makes the 8th Arrondissement so special. Everything about the hotel is smallish, from the rooms, to the lobby and the restaurant/bar. But, of so beautifully stylish and decorated, with great linens, toiletries, etc. The continental breakfast each morning could not have been better. Perhaps the nicest aspect of the property was the general manager and her staff - terrifically friendly and helpful. I strongly recommend this hotel!

Room Tip: The swimming pool and fitness center weren't terrible - the hotel doesn't have them (and I d...

Daniel is a nice boutique hotel in Paris. The location is great, near Champs-Elisee; there is a metro station some blocks away. We stayed in a 6th-floor room. It was quite spatious for Paris standards, but it is not the standard room for the hotel. I suspect that their regular room would be quite small. Breakfast was ok, nothing special. If you are an Omar Shariff fan, you might spot him around, since he lives in the hotel

Hotel Daniel is the chic, boutique experience. It's a pricey way to be hip and get a good night's sleep in Paris. The hotel is very small, tucked away on a quiet street right off of the Champs-Elysees in the 8th arrondisement. The colour palate is mint green, pink, purple, gold and blue. The decor is La Belle Epoque meets Indochine (the film). You go there for the style not necessarily the luxury. The rooms are small. There is no spa or workout area. It feels a bit like you're a very wealthy woman at the turn of the 20th century and the hotel employees are your personal staff. I cannot say enough about the staff. They are a bunch of gentle, 20/30-somethings in button-up shirts sitting in what feels like your fantasy living room, waiting to quietly take your coat and get you a drink. None of them appear bitter or disenfranchised. They are vibrant and bright and definitely aspiring to other things which makes them optimistic and relaxed. No one is hungrily insinuating a fiver when they open the door for you. You never have to wait in line to approach the front desk. The person in charge of welcoming you back to the hotel or seeing you off for your day of sight-seeing is also the person who can arrange your wake-up call, your room service, make a call for a few opera tickets or (in my case, track down a salon that can blow dry your hair at the last minute). Breakfast is simple and lovely. Dinner and lunch are fresh if you'd like a night in. It's an expensive way to be cool, but I'm a sucker for feeling cool in Paris.

You can't go wrong with the location. The breakfast is great. The service good, friendly. The common areas are just beautiful. We asked for restaurant recommendations and one place was spot - great french bistro and another place we thought was way over priced and a bit snobby and food was disappointing. Here is the issue...the bed was terrible. We had a king bed in the room, made up of two single beds together, normally no problem a lot of places do that now and you really can't tell. However in this instance one bed was very hard and the other was soft and saggy, so very uncomfortable. Literally I was at least 2 inches lower to the ground than my partner, not conducive to a romantic Paris holiday. The room was very tight and cramped, but it's Paris so one doesn't expect huge spacious rooms. No view. But the rooms are very clean and bathroom spotless. Wifi very annoying, needed to log on every time you used it. All up, if the bed situation didn't happen I think the review would be much more positive but it really did spoil the experience, especially given price.
Note - I stayed in sept 2012, but was unable to go back that far when selecting date.

We spend a good deal of time in Paris and we like to try different hotels in our favourite arrondissements (the 8th, 16th, 1st and 7th for the most part) We prefer smaller boutique hotels and have always loved the San Regis for its exquisite décor, luxury comfort and discreet service. Well, we tried Hotel Daniel for the first time and have found it to be outstanding in the same way. Situated on a small street between the Champs Elysees and rue St. Honore, it offers a great location with easy access to almost anywhere in central Paris. We had a Junior Suite upgrade and we appreciated the luxury and comfort of the room. It was beautifully decorated, with toile-like tapestry on the walls, a great divan, and interesting pieces of Indian inlaid furniture. The bed was extremely comfortable and the linens were incredibly soft and silky. Modern large scale swivel TV and free wifi offered modern amenities. Breakfast in the gorgeously decorated lobby/lounge was perfectly done. Freshly squeezed orange juice, fabulous panier of pains, croissants etc, excellent coffee served in a stunning coffee pot were a welcome start to the day. Besides this continental offering, excellent a la carte choices are available. Service is friendly yet discreet. Everyone at the hotel took pride in their job. This is especially true of the maître de maison, Mme Cecile Croisard who helped us in many ways. We ended up staying at this hotel for 7 nights and it was a wonderful experience. Merci a tout le monde,

Just off the Champs Elysee this is a little gem of a Hotel. It feels extremely eclectic, a bit like staying in your own home. The service was very good and would really recommend it for 2-3 nights.
The only drawback, which is not the Hotels fault is that there was a lot of shouting in the street early in the morning that woke me up twice.
