“So-so entrance, impressive foyer, decent rooms with nice furniture”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 7, 2011

The pluses: Impressive gold-themed lobby. Decent rooms with good beds and furniture - a little small with narrower corridors compared to our typical US hotels, but good by Paris standards, I suppose. Helpful and polite concierge and desk staff. Free WiFi. Good location though it's not on Champs-Elysees itself as the name implies, but a couple of blocks away from it. Very clean, and the bathroom has nice toiletries.

Minuses: The street it lies on (rue la Boetie) is narrow and congested, with little parking space while you're checking in, if you're coming by car (not such a concern if you're arriving by taxi or using the subway.) The extras like meals or coffee / drinks are over-priced so we avoided these. The room was over-heated and it was hard to adjust the temperature down, though we solved this by opening the window (in early December!) but then there was street and traffic noise as we overlooked la Boetie. The desk clerk charged E13 extra per day for the 2nd person (me), saying our company negotiated rate was for just one person (my wife) though the contract said nothing about extra charges and the hotel incurred no extra expenses (there was no complimentary breakfast, or extra bed or larger room involved.) Also, other desk staff said there was no charge but it ultimately appeared on the bill. Very strange.

But the helpfulness of the concierge in pointing us to places to see and how to get there made up for this. The golden lobby was so impressive that we took pictures of it. Overall, we enjoyed our stay.

This is a charming hotel, with great amenities. The rooms are not large, but I've seen smaller ones. But very comfortable, with a large bathroom. My window faced the courtyard so it was very quiet. A delicious breakfast buffet, which is expensive at 25 euros, but it was included in my rate, so I was very happy with it. They even have a workout room downstairs which is quite good, and I seemed to be the only one using it during my stay. Free wifi, and they even gave me a 2nd key so I could be online with my PC and my iPad both.

But the nicest thing was the staff. They really bend over backward to help you with anything you need.

We couldn't have asked for a better hotel for our stay in Paris. The staff went above and beyond to help us from the minute we arrived. Our room was spacious and immaculate. We booked our room through a special and recieved breakfast as part of our stay. Our son left his iPod in the room and they have been very helpful about finding it and working with us to get is mailed.

The location cannot be beat. We were walking distance from two metro lines and the Christmas market on the Champs Elysees.

This hotel is very close to american standards yet still very French. The sleeping rooms are larger, the bathroom very large and nice. Very much a business travel type hotel. The sleeping rooms has all the appointments of a US business hotel, desk, comfortable chair for reading.

I stayed at this hotel last weekend and from the moment we arrived we had great service - we were greeted outside the hotel from the Taxi, the doorman helped us with our bags. The Concierge was fantastic, so helpful and ready to assist with travel tips and booked taxis for us.

The staff speak very good English and could not do more to help us, room service was prompt and when we mentioned to one of the maids that the room was chilly she brought us an extra heater straight away.

Great service in the breakfast area, very relaxing.
The spa is small, but worth a visit - there is gym equipment and a steamroom to use in the basement floor which we enjoyed. Robes and slippers are provided for use.

Our room was very well maintained, we were in a superior room and there was so much space.

Great for a romantic weekend away - would definately return.

Room Tip: Would recommend a superior room

Stayed at this fantastic hotel with my husband and our grandson. Just fell in love with this hotel. Accomodation spotless, Very large room with windows opening over a courtyard. Buffet breaksfast was served in a spotlessly clean dining room which was "compact and bijout." Service andf friendliness of staff "Excellente". On leaving the hotel and turning right you have a very short walk to reach the "Champs de Lysee and the "Charles de Gaulle" Metro station (for Disney). Turn and look to the right and you have the "Arc de Triumph" and then turn to the left you can see a huge ferris wheel which is located at the Tullerie Gardens (outside the Louvre). If you enjoy the history attached to the French Revolution you will lfall in ove this place as the past is absolutely palpable. Disney was good for a day trip.

Room Tip: Room overlooking the courtyard is quiet.

We had passed by this hotel four times a year for the last 15 years, the only personn we looked forward to met was the chief concierge Louis who was always looking after us. Unfortunatly he has left for another destination and we are really sad not to have somebody with that smile to let us know and discover that little restaurant that would had openned between our visits. Now the concierge in the evening doesn't smile at all and the only yrestaurants he knows is "boef sur toit" or any other less interesting one.

We will come back to this hotel since the owners have made the most effort to keep their rooms nicer we stay on 702 always but this time we tried 202 and it is really nice....
