Our stay at the Sofitel Arc de Triomphe was perfect. My husband surprised me with a weekend away for my birthday, and I cannot praise this hotel enough.

From the friendly welcome when we checked in, to the helpful concierge, nothing was too much trouble for the staff here.

The room was small but the bed was the most comfortable i've ever slept in!!! The bathroom was clean and well-equipped, which is a big thing for me!!!
There was a sound system and flat screen tv too.

Breakfast was well prepared and with good choice - something for everyone, from cereal and eggs, to fruit and pastries, and freshly-squeezed juices too.

Overall we were really impressed with the Sofitel, would not hesitate to recommend it and would definitely stay again. what a find!!!

Stayed 3 nights and very much enjoyed our stay. The location is perfect and we had no problem finding our way around Paris. The staff were very helpful with directions and bookings.
The room was a bit on the small side but was spotless and the bed very comfortable. Had one light meal in the bar and found the food to be very good, drinks were a bit expensive but I think that is the case in most of Paris. Didn't have breakfast, at €27 pp it was a bit on the high side and we found plenty of place close by to eat.
Overall we had a very enjoyable stay at this hotel.

Four of us booked a package thru Costco for air/hotel to Paris for 9 nights. One of the Costco choices was Sofitel Arc de Triumph.
I can sum up in one word our experience at this hotel: Perfect.

When I travel I usually stay at Marriott, Renaissance, Westin, Ritz-Carlton, etc. So, I was concerned about the quality of this hotel when I booked. I've been to Paris several times and was familar with the general location and it happens to be a prime area.

From the moment we arrived we were treated royally. We had deluxe category rooms and found them to be quite lovely. Nice size for Paris standards, very clean, robe/slippers a nice touch.

Breakfast buffet was included and it was wonderful. Plenty of fruits, cereals, yogurt, delicious breads/pastries, eggs, etc. Wonderful staff.

Our bags were delayed a couple of days the the hotel staff went out of their way calling the airline numerous times each day to get updates for us. I can't say enough about the staff and the guest relations people. Friendliest and most helpful. Even tolerated my 2 yr old level of French and never laughed at me.

The staff and intimate nature of the hotel really made our vacation special (we were two daughters (early 50's) traveling with our two moms(early 70's and quite worldly). They are still raving about the hotel and the staff.

I've stayed at the Marriott on the Champs Elysees for 10 days and found the warmth and friendliness of the Sofitel to outshine the Marriott (and I'm a BIG Marriott fan). I would definitely stay here again.

This was our first visit to Paris and we took the Eurostar, staying in Paris for 3 days two nights.
Our hotel was excellently situated to the hotspots yet very quiet, being just off the Champs Elysees.

It was also just around the corner from the Metro which is very handy if you like us are coming from Gard Du Nord.
We were given an upgrade to a mini suite free of charge which always starts a trip off well!
The staff at reception were extremely friendly and helpful, even when we made mistakes in our basic french!
All the staff spoke English although we did try speaking French as it is considered polite to at least try.
The breakfast which was included in our rate was ample and had American and French selections.
The staff here were a little brusque but still amiable.
They were constantly ensuring there was enough of everything and were attentive to detail.
We had to ask about where to eat and the concierge was very helpful, taking time to check our various restaurants and arrange a booking.
Our suite was very clean and the beds were divine! Best bed I have slept in - Deep mattress, sumptous pillows and duvet.
There was ample refreshment in the room, replaced each day.
Best of all, really nice freebies in the bathroom and complimentary bathrobes and slippers ( we didn't take those!)

Overall, this made the whole trip away for just the two of us without the children, a relaxing, luxurious experience.
Having never visited Paris, we were pleased to have made a good choice here. It also rates 98th out of 2000 hotels in Paris.

This is a lovely hotel near the Arc De Triomphe and we had a very nice stay in Nov 2007.

The good: nice sized room, nice staff, teddy bear on the pillow, turn down service each night with a nice note, they gave us a a nice bottle of wine since it was our anniversary and it was a quick walk to and from the Air France Les Cars airport shuttle buses.

We loved the bed that has been the subject of many reviews. Yes, it is simply a mattress with a down feather topper, but we found it very comfortable. The AC/Heat worked very well. The room was quiet and relaxing. The bathroom was very nice.

The not so good was simply the location. Not that it was in a "bad" part of town, but if you are visiting Paris as tourist you will soon find out, that most of the City sites are not nearby. This area is a business district and this seems to be mostly a business hotel. The area is quiet at night even through is it close to the Champs Elysees. We always felt safe walking to the hotel but would have preferred a few more people on the local streets at night.

The Metro was about a 5 minute walk away and we used it extensively to get around the City.

We did not eat at the hotel. There a plenty of places to eat everywhere in the City and the price for breakfast seemed high.

If you need a great bed, a very good room and want to stay near the Champs Elysees, I would recommend staying here. If there is a next time visit to Paris for us, we would stay somewhere in the Left Bank.

Regardless of where you stay, go to Paris, you will enjoy a great city!
