Sharing close milestone birthdays, my Mother and I took a trip to Europe which culminated in 3 days in Paris. The staff and accommodations of the Etoile Saint Ferdinand were outstanding. While the room is small compared to US standards, it lacked nothing. We had all the ecoutrements needed for two traveling gals. The staff was exemplary in service and courtesy.
I would stay no where else on a return trip to Paris.

Room Tip: This is not a room sized for entertaining, but rather relaxing, sleeping and changing.

We moved from another large hotel to Hotel Etoile saint-ferdinand after our flight was cancelled due to hurricane Sandy. We were "stranded" in Paris until the airlines would start operating again. My mom and I were pleasantly surprised with how genuinely caring and accomodating the hotel staff was regarding our situation. When we were able to book a flight home, the front desk staff called us a cab for the next morning and prepared a boxed lunch to take with us on the flight.

After staying in the larger, more expensive hotel that did not include free breakfast or internet (this was for business), it was so nice to arrive at this reasonably priced, clean, and friendly hotel with the free offerings...in Paris!

I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone. Merci bien!

This hotel is perfect for solo travellers who like peace and quite in a nice area balanced with convenience and great service!

- The hotel is one block from Metro line 1 - which is prefect for lots of the main attractions in Paris. The street its self is relatively quiet - ensuring a good night's sleep

- The hotel is in a nice (and cute) and safe neighbourhood. There are plentry of non-touristy restaurants, cafes, boulangaries, fromagargies around and I always felt safe in the area (as a female travelling alone)

- The hotel staff were really friendly and helpful, the complimentary breakfast was great and the room was cosy (this is Paris!) but comfy and clean!

Would definitely stay here again! (Especially after two rather unfortunate experiences with accommodation in Paris)

Thank you!

Stayed there for business for a few days. Effective and no non-sense with a boutique twist... Free wifi.. What ask more when you are on business;-)

But it is also walking distance from the champ-elysee and arch de triomphe: 15/20 min.. And 1h or so walk ti the eiffel tower... Surrounded by parcs and little nice restaurants

Recommended from short week-end away
+ the staff is pro and smiling !

(Read my other review and see that all hotel in the area aren't that nice)

After a 10 hour flight, we arrived for checkin. Reception lady was very nice and explained everything in detail. Be warned, no porter/bellman here. We grabbed our bags and headed to the room only to find out the AC was broke. It was 80+ degrees and very humid. We called down to the front desk. They apologized that is was broke, but said they were booked up and nothing she can do until tomorrow. Needless to say we werent happy. We opened the windows, but due to the rain coming in the window and the amount of traffic noise we decided to look for another Hotel. Unfortunately for us, there was a convention that week and no hotels in the area had any rooms available. We decided there wasnt anything we could do, and stayed at this hotel. We didnt get any sleep and had work at 7am the next morning. Not happy!

I sent an email to the manager, stating our night had been ruined and we were not happy. Marco (the manager) apologized to my husband and had the AC fixed the next day.

The location in decent with plenty of eating and shopping nearby. The metro is only a few blocks away, and the arch a few blocks further. We had some transients outside the hotel most nights, I wouldnt travel alone outside after dark.

The rooms are standard 3 star rooms. I believe I read this was a Best Western that was remodeled, I would believe it. Not a 4 star hotel, but a very clean and maintained 3 star. Everything was clean. Bathrooms are a little small without ventilation.

Service was EXCELLENT and was ultimately the reason we stayed. We asked for a fridge and had one delivered to our toom. Reception was always helping us order food and answering all our questions. Service was 4 star worthy!

Breakfast was standard for free. Orange and grapefruit juice, several bread bites, 2 cereals, yougurt, and a few other things. The bag lunches were suprisingly nice. They bag up a prepared sandwich, chips, sliced apples, and bottled water for you. We took them to parks and had picnics. Nice touch!

Marco did make right for the night without AC, we appreciated it. Because work is close to this hotel, we may use it again - but will look into other neraby hotels (such as the concorde) next time.

Overall, great 3 Star hotel; just not quite 4 star in our opinion. Service was great.

Although this little hotel isn't a four star it was a smashing little place. Rooms were adequate, breakfast fresh and ample. Reception staff very pleasant indeed. It was very handy just ten minutes walk to L'Arc de Triomphe and for racing enthusiasts well placed for free bus to Longchamps plus set down on bus to/from CDG Airport.
Added bonus was a welcome drink, plus a take out lunch box. Back next year.

Once you get over the fact that a cheap hotel in Paris costs a fortune you realise this hotel is a little gem. Lovely, clean room. Great breakfast, though it can get busy if everyone turns up at the same time. Very friendly, helpful staff. Nice area; very close to Metro (5-10 mins to main attractions), a few nice brasseries at end of road with lovely food. We booked a superior room which was nicely decorated. The included lunch bag was a brilliant idea which we took advantage of on each of our three days stay. Would definitely recommend this hotel to friends and return to it ourselves.
