This hotel was booked through the Guardian, we paid £ 250 each for three nights including breakfast and the Eurostar.

The rooms and bathrooms were clean and tidy. Everything worked and we had no issues. We were given maps and all of the staff we talked to spoke good English. Fantastically close to the Metro (Argentine) and a short walk to the Arc de Triomphe, past all the motorbike showrooms!

Breakfast was good. It was a continental breakfast with croissants, fresh juice and coffee etc. I saw a few negative reviews of the breakfast but they seem to have turned things around. The staff were all helpful and even went to get a bottle opener and glasses for the wine that we brought back.

Yes, the lift is small and the rooms may be on the cosy side. If you want a big room, I suggest you pay double at one of the bigger hotels.

Handy tip.. use the computer at the hotel to book your tickets at the Eiffel Tower if you haven’t pre-booked them. We forgot to do this and queued for about an hour and a half to get in. The pre-booked line was empty.

We booked this hotel through Eurostar ad was very happy with the room and the workers. The room was clean, and although a typically small, was still very comfortable. The shower easily held two, and the soap provided had an awaking smell. When we arrived, a young french man greeted us and he was very new and knew nothing about the services such as how to call the front desk etc. But met with 3 other staff members who were extremely helpful with resturants and nightlife. Although, this hotel was a few blocks to the metro and is in a location where the walking isn't so bad, I would like to stay closer to Hotel de Ville.

Overall the stay was great and worth it!

Me and my wife stayed there for 3 nights. Paris is renowned for its tiny rooms is almost all hotels. But this room does lead the list when it comes to room size.
Pros: location- 5 minute walk from Arc de Triomphe...
Free wifi
Fridge
Hair dryer

Cons: Tiny hotel
Tiny room
Tiny elevator
Tiny bathroom
Broken a/c in rooms
Cleanliness questionable apart from linens
Breakfast not included in price
Prices rather high even for Paris standards

Not much to say except these above-mentioned apart from stay here if you are a bachelor. Stay away fro here if you are especially a family.

Good value for money, serviceable rooms, free use of the computer in the lobby and best of all, a superb location! The Argentine metro station is a mere 2-minute walk (3 in heels), a lovely neighborhood with great restaurants and further along is the Arc de Triomphe!

The room itself was okay; three adults plus the luggage can be quite cramped, but with careful maneuvering, it can be managed. The tiny refrigerator was so unobtrusive, we only realized we had one on the 3rd day!

Before you reach the metro, there is a lovely boulangerie with great tasting croissants, perfect for breakfast (the hotel also serves but it's merely passable; the basement is stuffy and hot with halogen lights). Across the hotel are mom-and-pop groceries where you can likewise buy fresh fruits and juices, in case you want to eat inside your room.

The elevator is quite tiny--3 normal-sized people will have to squeeze in; with luggage, it has to be one person alone with the bags.

The bathroom, as opposed to the rest of the room is quite roomy. The normal amenities are there--bathtub with hot and cold water, 1 sink, plus a hair dryer and free toiletries (the soaps are shaped like stones, so lovely!) The toilet is in another tiny room.

Madame, the manager is very personable and friendly, very willing to answer questions and arrange day trips to Versailles and the like.

All in all, this hotel was the perfect venue for my first trip to the most beautiful city ever!

Room Tip: The neighborhood is quite tame so getting a room with a window facing the road will not be a problem...

The Centre Ville Etoile is just perfect for a getaway to Paris. No, it doesn't have all the bells and whistles that you would expect from a 4 or 5-star, nor does it have the astronomical cost! What the Centre Ville Etoile DOES have, though, is plenty of charm (come on - it's a cute little hotel with no more than 15 or so rooms in PARIS!), convenience (right near a train station, local markets, and FABULOUS bakery, lots of cafes and restaurants, and the Arc de Triumph), and even the "must-haves" like international TV with programs in many languages, free WiFi, etc. And did I mention it's one of the cheapest stays you'll find in Paris? So, forget those folks who didn't rate this hotel very highly. We all know you get what you pay for. If you want the royal treatment in one of the most famous cities in the world, you better be willing to pay for it. If you want a clean, charming, inexpensive place to rest your head while you visit the most romantic city in the world, then this hotel is just fine. I would certainly stay again.
