We visited Paris in January 2011 for 4 days/3 nights. I chose this hotel due to its central location, near the Champs Elysees/Arc de Triomphe (approximately 5/10 minute walks away). The metro was a few minutes walk and the hotel itself is in a cozy, safe neighborhood on a smaller street leading away from the main avenue. There are a couple of supermarkets nearby, and an excellent deli/baguette shop with a warm female owner with fantastic food. There was also a Japanese restaurant (with Chinese staff!) a little bit past the hotel that was OK. There were plenty of other restaurants on the main strip - prices were a little high but I expect that this is due to the proximity to Champs Elysees.

I cannot remember the name of the gentleman at the front desk unfortunately, but he was extremely kind and spoke excellent English. He answered several questions I had about the neighborhood and about Paris in general, and was otherwise very helpful- he even lent us his umbrella one day when it was raining. Check-in and check-out were no problem at all. The service of the other staff was satisfactory. The elevator was extremely tiny! My girlfriend and I barely fit, even though we both had minimal luggage (and we are not big people by any means).

The room was fairly large for Europe, and clean. I reserved a double bed, but unfortunately the bed was really 2 single beds pushed together, and they had a tendency to occasionally separate from each other while we were laying down, very annoying. Also, the toilet was in a separate room adjacent to the shower room. This was slightly annoying but not too bad. The bath towels were a little bit small. One of the smaller lamps didn't seem to work in the room but this was not a major issue. The HDTV had no English channels available. There was a heater in the room that was a tiny bit loud, but otherwise effective. The key was a large, old-fashioned piece of work that you fortunately had to drop off to the front desk when departing the hotel.

Unfortunately there seemed to be a problem of several cars with sirens (police??) buzzing through the area early in the morning, which briefly woke us seeemingly everyday. The garbage trucks passing through in the early hours were nearly as loud. Otherwise we had no problems with noises from other rooms, probably because they are all separated by a good length.

Overall, the excellent service and hard to beat location made up for the several deficiencies with the room.

Dear Sir,

It has been a great pleasure for us to welcome you in our house.

I am versy sorry for the heater => next time, please, be so kind to ask us, and it will be our pleasure to manage it for you.

Since a few days, we add a lot of TV channels, including English Spoken one.

I hope we will see you again,

Thankfully,

Hotel Centre Ville Etoile.

Me and my husband stayed at the Centre Ville Etoile for 3 nights end of May (a few days back). The first day we arrived the room wasn't ready and we were given a room just next to the reception on the ground floor. So we asked Leopold, the person at the reception to change it. At the beginning he told us we will have to pay extra, but then said that it's fine and gave us another room which was ready. Our room was clean, neat and small although it overlooked the street so when we opened the window (it was hot and there wasn't airconditioning, only an electric fan) it was quite noisy.
The breakfast was as all reviews said: croissone, jam, bread and cheese, which they bring you to your table. I was honestly expecting a bit more, especially that I wake up hungry in the morning.
I have to say that the TV in our room had only french, italian and spanish channels. No BBC, CNN or other English channels. Also, I have noticed that although they made the beds, they didn't clean up (during 4 days-> vaccum, dust, etc.). The worse thing was when we returned on Sunday from a long day we noticed that our things in the suitcase have been moved and my husband realized that one of his tops was missing (it was a lacoste, the only big brand in the suitcase). We didn't want to cause trouble, so we only informed the person at the reception (who this time was a French woman constantly on the phone and busy talking) and she looked slightly surprised and said she'll ask about it. We haven't seen the t-shirt since.
So, I wouldn't recommend you to stay at a hotel whose staff steal your clothes or touches your personal belongings when they shouldn't. Judge for yourselves.

This is a small hotel located off the Avenue de l' Grande Armee and around the corner from a metro stop (Argentine). I selected it because of its nearness to Porte Maillot/Palais de Congres where the Beauvais airport bus picks up passengers. It is within 15 minutes walk from the bus drop off location.

The hotel has one small elevator and we had to go up separately (we're only 3 people with 2 rolling suitcases). The room was clean but small. The toilet was separate from the bathroom which some people may like. The bathroom was of average size and clean and came with some toiletries like soap, bath gel and shampoo. The daily cleaning was very thorough.

The staff is friendly and helpful and were able to give suggestions as to where to go and what to do.

The breakfast is served in a tiny room in the basement level and consists of a hot beverage, orange juice, croissant, some cheese, bread, butter and jam. The breakfast costs 10 euros and you can get cheaper breakfast if you go outside to any local brasserie. There is a wonderful patisserie/boulangerie right on the corner of Rue des Acacias and Avenue de l' Grande Armee. It was cheaper to buy your breakfast stuff there and go back to the hotel just for the hot beverages.

The hotel is quiet and very convenient to all the landmarks and museums. It's a short walk to Arc de Triomphe and the metro takes you anywhere you want to go. In fact, if you plan to go to Versailles, this is more convenient than to go to Gare St. Lazare. The metro is clean, convenient, and we never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a train.

Got this as a deal with a company called "Great Getaways" off the Internet. We paid £122 each for two nights Bed and Breakfast including return Eurostar from Waterloo. What a bargain. The hotel is spitting distance from the Argentine tube and 2 minutes walk from the Arc de Triumph and Champs Ellyse. The room was quite "snug" but very clean and tidy, good decor, TV, mini-bar and bathroom with robes and toiletries etc. The staff were very friendly and this was the quickest check-in time EVER (30 seconds I think). Nearby are loads of shops and cafes so you do not really have to go to the expense of paying 10euro each for the breakfast which was a basic continental.
All in all, would highly recommend this hotel to anybody wishing to have a central location at a good price with clean and friendly facilities.

This is a small hotel (12-15 rooms) right in the centre of Paris, Arc de Triomphe and Champs-Elysee are just 5 min away from the main road. All major tourist sites are easily accessible from the Metro station which is just about a minutes walk from the hotel.
We stayed in a standard room which had air-conditioning, satellite TV, hair dryer. The room was kept nice and tidy, but a bit smaller than 3* average - so may not suite couples with children. Staffs were really friendly and helpful.
Hotel serves a minimal continental breakfast. Overall - good value for money without compromising quality right in the centre of Paris. Recommended if you are just looking for a city hopper break without children.
