“Perfect location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 7, 2012

We very much enjoyed our 4 nights at this hotel. It was a perfect location for walking to almost all that Paris has to offer. We even had a view of the Eiffel tower from our bathroom window! It is in a very quiet location, yet only a block from many restaurants & shops. The rooms were small, but very functional, with lots of room for luggage etc. The hotel staff were very helpful. We would definitely stay there again.

Location is the key to this hotel, easy walking to the Eiffel Tour, Metro, Bus for the Airport, cafes, bars and supermarket. Small, but clean and quiet. The staff were very helpful and friendly. WiFi worked well, and you could leave your suitcase there all day after your checkout time. Would definately use this hotel again. Don't pay for breakfast here, cheaper and nicer in the next street.

Room Tip: Choose a room at the back for quietness.

Loved this hotel! Room was comfortable and clean. Room included a room safe. Short walk to Eiffel Tower, Army and Rodin museums. Short walk to subway, restaurants and shops. Staff was friendly and helpful. Elevator was small but functional. Wifi worked well and was free. Breakfast available, but not included.

We choose this hotel after reading about it from Rick Steves. As others have stated the location is excellent- close to the metro, cafes and local grocery stores, etc. The Rue Cler area is also conveniently close enough that you can walk to major tour sites- especially the Eiffel tower. We walked to most places (Arc de Triomphe, Louvre, Notre Dame and Musee D'Orsay). None were more than about 20 minutes or so- though we often took longer window shopping or stoping at a cafe.
The rooms are extremely small, but we didn't want to spend much time there anyway.
I would recommend skipping the breakfast and go to a cafe or bakery instead. If you need a coffee fix (more than a small cup), Starbucks is about 2 1/2 blocks away.

Right around the corner from Rue Cler and the Militaire Ecole metro stop, the hotel is only a 5-minute stroll to la Tour Eiffel. This landmark became indispensible whenever we needed to figure out where we were at any point during our travels throughout Paris. The staff was friendly and the room was clean though tiny- my son and I were crammed in together with no room to even store our luggage. The elevator was ridiculous- it could barely fit one person with a suitcase. Their Wi-Fi was spotty and the towels felt like sandpaper. My chief complaint was having all of my emails prior to my arrival ignored. Three times I tried- even in French- for weeks in advance without a reply.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for three days in early September 2012. We found the location to be very convenient....close to a metro stop, cafes, several wine shops, grocery stores, etc. Rue Cler is less than a block away and is a happening scene. All the complaints from people talking about the size of elevators and what not have obviously not traveled very much. I found these things to be pretty standard. Paris is expensive to stay in and if you are looking for a good value this will suit you well.

If this is a 3 star hotel, I would hate to see a 1 star. Even with the prime location near Rue Cler and the Eiffel Tower, this place was not worth the money. Let's start with accessing the room - if you aren't claustrophobic and are feeling daring then maybe you will take the ancient elevator that fits one person. Otherwise you can take the winding staircase, often in total darkness. Then there is the room - I've stayed in nicer rooms in hostels. The furnishings were dated and tired. The bed spread was not your standard hotel beading but more of a worn out blanket you would let your dog sleep on. I did strip off the sheets to inspect for bugs - yeah, the room was that bad - and was surprised to find a clean, bug-free mattress. The stark white walls were adorned with a single painting. And oh...the bathroom, so damp and moldy that some of the tile grout decided to check out, clearly hasn't been updated in decades. The hairdryer was a 1960s shopvac attached to the wall.
The staff were ultimately helpful but a little surly and didn't make you feel at home. In summary, stay somewhere else.

Room Tip: If you don't head my warning, then avoid rooms next to the elevator/stairs.
