Stopped here for the first time, good position for sightseeing, shops, and our business. The bedrooms were small, but the bed a king and comfortable. Bathroom small but nice. Breakfast minimal, but staff very helpful. I would use this Hotel again.

I had stayed very long time ago in this hotel and I remembered it was just OK for a very good location. This time I was disappointed. I was given a 'CLASSIC' room which is not more than 8 square meters! I really felt bad, I could not move; this is a size that should be forbidden to be rented in hotels for humans! Anyway, I complained and after spending the first night in this box-room, I was given another room for the other 2 nights. Sleeping quality, comfort, cleanses and lighting are fine. Breakfast is basic (for 19 € you can find better) and in rush hours the service is chaotic. The lift is very slow and can hardly accommodate 2 persons. That's why you see often people using the stairs instead of the lift. In the bathroom there was water leaking....WiFi is free and was working at an acceptable speed.
To conclude: for nearly 190 € per night you can try and find better options

Room Tip: Avoid classic rooms!

Dear Guest,

Thank you for taking the time to write a review following your stay in December.

Our Classic room has an average size of 15m2 – 161sqf, which can be felt as not very large. As you may know, room size in Paris is limited and cannot be compared to many international cities. Nevertheless, Hotel Best Western Trocadero La Tour has several room categories up to Family rooms who can accommodate 2 adults and 2 children.

Following your remark and availability, we were happy to upgrade you to a superior room category and make your stay much more enjoyable.

Thank you also to have mentioned the water leak, as we are very concerned about environment.

We shall be happy to welcome you again.

Best regards.

I am reviewing this a bit distant from my travels last fall (September 2012), but I would gladly return once I save up enough folding cash for another European outing!

This hotel was located in A GREAT NEIGHBORHOOD. It was not overtly touristy; and though there were high-buck boutiques around, there were also (within walking distance):
1. Delis
2. Bakeries
3. Cafes
4. A GROCERY STORE
5. Mono Prix -aka MONDO PRIXO as we came to call it- a sort of smaller Target, but French!
6. Specialty Foodie Stuff Gah-lore!
7. A mall with the chain stores the teenybopper with us really dug (H&M,etc). Compared to our home in the land of the MegaMall, this was actually kind of cute!
8. Metro station- you are a ticket away from all the major museums, for CHEAP!
9. Small dogs- watch your step, both for dogs and their... leavings!
10. Eiffel tower- watch your purse!

Of all the amazing stuff we experienced (or tried to amongst the throngs at high season), shopping around and visiting with all of the locals who suffered our feeble but persistent attempts at speaking French really were probably the most fun and memorable part of the trip!

The hotel is a 15 minute walk from the Eiffel tower at a leisurely pace, 3 blocks from a Metro station, a longer hike to the Orsay/Louvre (a day pass for the boat tour served well for this).

You could be closer to the big attractions, museums, or fancypants shopping on the Champs Elysees, but you will pay a ridiculous tourist premium to do so, as far as we could determine. A cafe a la creme standing at the cafe bar in Passey was 2 Euros; sitting at a cafe by the Eiffel tower was 10 Euros (I am not complaining, but we should have had more sense before we sat down- doh!)

The room size for this hotel is pretty standard from what I have experienced previously in Europe. Space is at a premium, so you are not going to get a 2,500 sq feet of hotel luxury for a hondo! The room was clean and well appointed, and the the hotel was comfortable, safe, and quiet (except on trash/ recycling day in certain rooms). You have amazing food, shopping, and mostly local foot traffic surrounding the hotel.

(This was my first trip to Paris. I was anxious due to my understanding of the common stereotypes of the French, the language, and the expense. With a bit of research and practice beforehand, these anxieties were baseless. Use your head, use your legs, get an iPhone app and learn some basic phrases. I found the Rick Steve’s series very helpful, as well as the SpeakeasyFrench App which has audio pronunciation of common phrases.)

Room Tip: The outward, street-facing rooms have great views of the neighborhood. However, it sounded like the...

We have just returned from a 4 night stay at this hotel. Having read scores of hotel reviews on line, we decided to try this one as recommended by a friend who had stayed here last year.

We booked direct with the hotel via their online booking page. This saved more than any other website. We were able to book a Superb room with breakfast for the same cost as a classic room without breakfast from a well-known travel website.

The hotel is about a 7 minute gentle walk from Passy metro station and 9 minutes to Boulanvilliers RER station. The eiffel tower and Arc de Triomphe are all within easy walk. There is a bustling shopping street very close and a wonderful foody street a couple of roads away with fabulous framageries, patisseries, boulangeries etc.

On arrival, the receptionist was not very helpful and tried to say that breakfast was not included (fortunately we had a printed copy of the booking confirmation which said otherwise). First impressions of the staff was not good. Fortunately, our impressions got better as our stay progressed as they proved themselves to be helpful and courteous.

The room itself was perfectly adequate in size and very clean. The bathroom had a half-sized bath with shower over it. Unfortunately the shower did not work. We reported it to the reception staff who arranged for someone to come and fix it that day. We are not sure why it was not fixed and had to spend the rest of the holiday using the bath (very tricky to wash long hair in). They were apologetic but as they were full they were not able to move us to another room.

This hotel had some positives and negatives but on the whole we felt that it was more positive than negative and would visit again. It is expensive but then all hotels in Paris are.

I recently spent three nights in this charming hotel in October 2012 on a business trip to Paris. The hotel is close to everything (shopping, tourist attractions). Service is excellent; rooms are very nicely decorated and just the right size. This will definetly be my go to place while in Paris.

My wife and I booked three nights in this hotel as a starting point for our Europe vacation. Upon arrival we were shown to our room which was no bigger that our broom closet. Our two suitecases could barely fit. Ok we said, we are in a foreign place with new customs. Let's put that behind us and enjoy Paris. Yes we struggled with the language but the harder we tried to fit in it seemed the Parisians tried even harder to make us feel like idiots. On our last night I went to the concierge and asked to have a taxi available for the next morning as we were catching an early morning flight to Venice. I was advised that getting a taxi at that time was difficult but if I came down early they could have one available. So that is exactly what we did. It became quickly apparent that the hotel was not going to be of any help so I ran out into the pouring rain to try to flag one down. After half an hour of no luck I returned to the hotel and pleaded with the staff to help us all the while watching taxi after taxi arrive at neighbouring buildings to pick up their fares. The concierge then reached into his desk and pulled out a map of the Paris subway and advised us to walk half a kilometre with all our luggage, in the pouring rain to the nearest stop to take a train to the airport. Unbelievable. We eventually stopped a cab in full flight on the street. We will never return. Don't waste your time and go straight to Italy where you will feel the love. Please read my review of Villa Igea in Venice.

Frank and Mercedez.

We spent a delightful five nights in this charming property in August 2012, coinciding with a significant life event. At the very outset I must single out the outstanding hospitality of M. Jean of the front office who along with his colleagues went out of their way to make us totally at home. Mmme. Helen who was on on duty the day we checked in most kindly upgraded us to a Prestige Room well before the 2 pm check-in slot, which admittedly contributed significantly to our joys. The room was exceptionally large and very well appointed with fine linen and trappings and a great bathroom. By Paris standards it must qualify as a suite. Some of the outstanding positives - a) The extremely friendly and hospitable service and expert guidance on Parisian sights and sounds.b) The very central location, Passy, with access to three metro lines and the RER within a ten minute walk and the Eiffel Tower and the Seine just a leisurely ten minute stroll away. c) The neighbourhood itself was very charming with nice cafes & Brasseries, a terrific take-away Beggars Chicken joint, a mall ( Passy Plaza) right opposite and every possible Parisian indulgence just a hop away.d) As already mentioned, the quality of the prestige room was truly exceptional. I also took a look at their standard and superior rooms and they too were of very good quality, albeit smaller. e) A very charming old-world 7 storey building which has been renovated to absolute perfection, with some very elegant public spaces, including a free lobby internet zone.f) A very filling breakfast with a good choice of meats, breads, juices and eggs, althought scoring a little low on variety.

Overall, I strongly recommend this hotel for leisure travellers as it combines the unique character of Paris with every possible convenience, packaged beautifully in an elegant friendly avtaar in charming Passy.

Room Tip: Definitely try for a superior room or a prestige room.
