We stayed here for a one-night stopover stay on our way by train to Germany. The reception staff are very friendly and smiley, and extremely welcoming. The place is also very easy to find, right next to the metro station on line 9 at Rue des Boulets (about 10 minutes from the Eurostar at Gare du Nord with one change at Oberkampf station) and also near a big transport interchange at the Place de la Nation. There is a good variety of restaurants in the area with fairly reasonable prices which is quite rare in Paris! Rooms small but very clean and comfortable, with an exceptionally sleek and clean bathroom. We stayed in room 1 which is on the ground floor and very quiet at night. Can't comment on breakfast as we didn't have it (had to catch an early train from Gare de l'Est). The area is very lively and felt pretty safe at all times generally.
Overall an excellent hotel for visiting Paris whether for business or pleasure and can recommend it to everyone.

Room Tip: Room 1 is good - quiet at night and no lifts/stairs to exit

We just returned from a 6 night stay. The hotel was a terrific base of operations for first time visitors to Paris. We were in the 5th floor Privilege Room. Although small, it was clean and well appointed, drenched with natural light and had a small balcony that wrapped around it. We were greeted with a bottle of wine and a box of chocolates on the bed. The staff were unfailingly friendly and helpful and even managed to score us reservations at two popular restaurants on almost no notice. Located off Place de la Nation, an easy walk to the Marais and with great metro access, this inn is located in a real neighborhood. There are no tour groups and no tourist attractions--but a lively street life and a great diversity of cultures. Our last night in town the proprietor sent us a bottle of champagne to enjoy. A true Parisian experience.

I stayed at the hotel for four nights in June 2014. The room was recently remodeled and very clean. The complimentary breakfast was very good with a wide selection of items to choose from. The hotel is located near several metro stations which makes it convenient for getting around Paris. During my stay, there were four different people working the desk at various times and they were all very helpful in answering any questions posed to them. I highly recommend this hotel.

Grand Hotel is a truly exceptional hotel that punches well above it's weight. From the moment you walk in the door and are greeted in such a friendly manner to the au revoir when you depart you will feel like you have made friends. All of the desk staff we met spoke excellent English. The wine and chocolate in the room upon arrival only heightens your appreciation of their attention to detail. Zyad the manager is fantastic and the effort he goes to is evident throughout your stay and his effort is reflected in all the staff' that are employed at GHF. One example of the staff's dedication to service was seen on our last day just prior to check out. We were just heading down for breakfast and my wife asked one of the house keeping staff if there was anyway that my wife could do a load of laundry prior to our departure. Although the staff member was probably not the most fluent in English they she seemed to say yes that would be no problem. She waited at the door while my wife collected up the clothes she wanted washed. Instead of directing my wife to the laundry room the house keeper simply took the bag, said 'Merci' and left. We were both quite stunned by this and a little worried that there would be some kind of exorbitant charge for this deluxe service and that it would not be ready prior to our departure. Shortly after we finished our breakfast our clothes were delivered to our room by the same house keeper neatly folded and packaged in a plastic laundry bag which we promptly packed in our suitcase and headed downstairs. Upon check out there was no sign of the charge for the laundry service on our bill. Wanting to be honest and thinking that they just hadn't had time to enter the charge
I told Zyad about the laundry and he informed me that there was no charge.

I can't recommend GHF highly enough. There is no doubt that this is truly the best value you will receive for anything to you do or buy while you are in Paris. I look forward to returning

Room Tip: We had a room on the top floor and had beautiful views and no noise problems

I booked this hotel based on its reviews and most things I read where correct. The location is fine, just on the outskirts of the city centre but the metro is very easy to use. The room was small as we booked the standard but was more than adequate and very clean, the hotel reception were brilliant and more than helpful. We were on the first floor and it felt like you could feel a rumble which we assumed was either the metro or RER, I would suggest either going for a room upgrade or asking for a higher floor. My only negative had nothing to do with the hotel but the inconsiderate guests who slammed doors late at night and smoked in the rooms when you are told upon arrival it is a non smoking hotel, the smell of the smoke unfortunately travelled into our room which was unpleasant. If we had been staying any longer we would have complained but what is the point for 2 nights?!
Anyhoo, we would recommend this hotel and the patisserie straight across the road.

I love this hotel. The staff are very helpful and have a great sense of humour. They clearly love working here. My room was very clean and comfortable. Very close to Metro. Love being able to make a cup of tea and having a fridge. There was no problem with noise. I was sad to leave.

Let me say this first, this is not a bad hotel but to me the problem is that it has no charm! Rooms are small(of course, it is Paris!) and standard, equipped with only the basics, the area is nothing special but close to metro. Though the receptionist was quite nice and helpful. He gave us details about the area and recommended some restraunts around although we didn't try any of them.
Bottomline is that, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to someone looking for a magical Paris experience. However, if you want a place nice and clean to use only for sleep and shower than it is for you and believe me it is above average considering the standards in this city!
