We stayed in Paris in 2011 at the Citadines Bastille Marais for 2 days. This was a highly disappointing experience. No airconditioning, no fans, the furniture was stained, the bed was uncomfortable. That area of Paris is very dirty and noisy. Do not go there, what is advertised in the brochures is not what you get. I will never go to Paris again as unless you visit the 16eme arrondissement and the typical other tourists spots, it is very dirty, with broken bottles of alcohol on the road, syringes and needles in the gutters, Overall not a good memory of Paris as I knew it 30 years ago. Also there was a strike of the Council workers, so no rubbish was picked up for 4 days. It was highly disappointing and disgusting. Beggars everywhere using their children to prey on unsuspecting visitors to steal their money.
