“Central Paris Gem”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 16, 2012

Booked this hotel via the website a few days prior to travel which gave a 10% discount. Central location a very short walk to both the Bastille and Marais and at its price is excellent. Booked executive room which has ample space. Spotlessly clean. Inclusive breakfast rate worth considering and on the better end end of the breakfast spectrum. Nice pastry's. Multi lingual staff helpful. Arrived at hotel prior to three for to check in. The room was not ready continued with check in and took bag for safe keeping. Highly recommend this hotel for Paris stay.

It's a lovely area. But our room wasn't ready when we arrived well after check-in time. The room we were given was well below standard for a supposedly four star hotel. When we complained we were moved to a room that was only marginally better. The air conditioning didn't work, the surrounding area was noisy, the staff were unhelpful. When we got back home, we discovered that we had been charged twice for the same service. But since the sum was small and we wanted to forget about it, we left it at that. There are many much better hotels than this in Paris. Choose one of them.

We last stayed here in July while visiting our daughter who lives in Paris. We have stayed here several times during the last 5 years ,the staff on reception are very helpful land welcoming. The hotel is made up of five or six separate buildings around a courtyard which is nice to sit in on a evening .When we stayed here last year for our daughter's wedding I booked 2 rooms for my husband and I and my two sons and grandaughter on arrival they told us that as we had visited them several times they had upgraded our rooms .The decor in all of the buildings is art deco with lots of black marbel and mirrors in the hallways.Rooms are well appointed and have a small kitchen area which is handy if you are traveling with children.food is a bit pricey but there are plenty of places to eat close by . The Metro is close so that you can get anywhere in Paris. If you are staying over a weekend get up early on the Sunday morning and visit the street market at Bastille it is well worth a visit .

Good experience. Clean rooms. Our room was on the top floor with lovely balcony. Would recommend that you request this overlooking courtyard.
Very central as close to metro. Staff were helpful and spoke english, which was great.
We had very short stay so did not have a chance to try the food, so can't comment.
Thanks

I have stayed in this hotel many times on work trips.
This hotel is made up of a number of buildings surrounding a central courtyard. The rooms are always clean and normally spacious and all have a small kitchen area in the room, as though it is a studio apartment, which can come in handy. Even if the decor seems a bit dated.
They've recently added free Wi-Fi which was great to have.
The area around the hotel ok, it is not particularly near anything interesting but it is a 10 minute walk to the great bars and restaurants of Le Marais and, in the other direction, the busy Oberkampf and Bastille areas. There are a couple of metro stations nearby too, one just a minute's walk away, that quickly get you around town.

I'd recommend this hotel if you can get a good deal for a room, but a lot of the time this hotel seems overpriced for what you are getting.

Room Tip: Ground floor rooms might be a little noisy due to everyone walking through the cobbled courtyard to...

When we arrived at the hotel we thought is was a rather small but once you pass the reception your find out that the hotel is bigger then you think and that there is a quite a big courtyard. There's four or five buildings with rooms that connect to this courtyard. The hotel itself has a kind of mosaic, glassy artistic decorations. It's kind of inbetween modern, tacky and kitsch. The staff is friendly but nothing out of the ordinary. The rooms are spacious enough and have a small kitchen with hotplate, fridge and a safe. The fridge in my room was quite noisy from time to time so I 'repositioned' it to silence the humming. another thing I remember was the smell of the rooms after they are cleaned. I suspect they use somekind of lavender airfreshner but i didn't really care for it. Luckily the balcony door open so you can ventilate the room very quickly. Another reason to do this is because the ventilation in the barthroom is inadiquate. The hotel has a restaurant and a bar, but as mentioned it quite expensive. The hotel is located near restaurants and there is a carrefour city - supermarket nearby. I liked this hotel because it's kind of a large boutique hotel with a typical 'paris' type of style to it. I stayed here for business but would consider returning with the family or just with my wife to see Paris.

Great location near the Marais area. the hotel is built around its own typical beautiful Parisien courtyard and the room is spacious and greatly decorated. We will choose again the same hotel in our next visit.
