“Perfect for what we wanted”
Reviewed September 10, 2012 via mobile

We wanted to stay somewhere not too far from the centre but slightly off the beaten track and near a metro stop. This was perfect. The hotel rooms were clean and a good size with everything we needed. The rooms we had were accessed via a small courtyard which made staying different from the usual hotel. I would definitely go back. If you go, the boulangerie on the way back to the metro is amazing.

Stayed here this summer. Easy location off the Peripherique-15 mins! We had a family room but it was really dark as it looked into the hotel court yard were they had large trees. The area is typically Parisian and the Bastille is 20 mins walk that offers a central location for the metro/tour buses etc.

Room Tip: They are updating the rooms so ensure you have a referbed one!

Yes, the rooms are relatively small and there are some stairs, but the price is reasonable for what you get. Our room was quiet, clean and comfortable, if a little cramped. Breakfasts were OK and reception staff were helpful. The interior courtyard is pleasant except when people are smoking there. Location is a bit distant from the centre of the Marais district, but there are plenty of brasseries close by, including a nice little one right next door. Cooking facilities are provided in the room, but we didn't use them. I suspect that the portable air-con machine would not be adequate in the heat of summer.

Room Tip: Some rooms look larger than others on the floor plan, so ask for a larger room if available.

WE booked a family room - it was great - in fact more like two rooms as a door through to the kids bunk bed section. Very close to Nation metro station. bonus to have a kitchenette in the room. Booked sometime in advance through last minute.com so was v cheap for a room for 4 in central Paris...

Room Tip: Ask for the family room that is separated into two by a door.

We booked a family room for two adults and two children. We arrived at 1pm and were sent off to find the room, carrying our own bags, like a youth hostel. There was a fold down bunk bed for the second child. This was bolted to the wall so would not fold down. I went to reception and said it was bolted to the ceiling. The manager did not believe me. This went on for some time with the manager refusing to believe it was bolted. The problem was compounded by the room being three buildings away from reception, down several corridors and up two lifts!
Eventually the cleaner walked past reception and said "Yes, its been broken for ages".
The manager told me to return to the room and he would find a solution. Eventually, two hours after arrival we were taken to another room. What a complete waste of time and a shambolic lack of organisation. The room was tiny and a large space was occupied by a air-conditioning unit with a pipe sticking out the window The loo in the bathroom was squeezed into such a tiny space you had to sit with your arms in front of you. Surely a hotel like this would have proper air conditioning, decent size rooms and bathrooms and an organised management.

We recently stayed here for Bastille day 2012, because it said it was near the Bastille area - make that about 1km away through some not so desirable areas.
The cleaners were noisy in the morning, the executive room upgrade, seemd to be the fact the room had a hob in it. The TV channels were chargeable. There was very little natural light in the room.
Basically don't bother unless its a last resort.
