WE booked a family room - it was great - in fact more like two rooms as a door through to the kids bunk bed section. Very close to Nation metro station. bonus to have a kitchenette in the room. Booked sometime in advance through last minute.com so was v cheap for a room for 4 in central Paris...

Room Tip: Ask for the family room that is separated into two by a door.

We booked a family room for two adults and two children. We arrived at 1pm and were sent off to find the room, carrying our own bags, like a youth hostel. There was a fold down bunk bed for the second child. This was bolted to the wall so would not fold down. I went to reception and said it was bolted to the ceiling. The manager did not believe me. This went on for some time with the manager refusing to believe it was bolted. The problem was compounded by the room being three buildings away from reception, down several corridors and up two lifts!
Eventually the cleaner walked past reception and said "Yes, its been broken for ages".
The manager told me to return to the room and he would find a solution. Eventually, two hours after arrival we were taken to another room. What a complete waste of time and a shambolic lack of organisation. The room was tiny and a large space was occupied by a air-conditioning unit with a pipe sticking out the window The loo in the bathroom was squeezed into such a tiny space you had to sit with your arms in front of you. Surely a hotel like this would have proper air conditioning, decent size rooms and bathrooms and an organised management.

We recently stayed here for Bastille day 2012, because it said it was near the Bastille area - make that about 1km away through some not so desirable areas.
The cleaners were noisy in the morning, the executive room upgrade, seemd to be the fact the room had a hob in it. The TV channels were chargeable. There was very little natural light in the room.
Basically don't bother unless its a last resort.

Room was a bit small but nice to have a kitchenette. Getting to the room was quite an adventure, down several steps through a court yard, down some more steps to a lift then take the lift to the second floor where you walk through another court yard to another lift and go to your floor, This is fine when you don't have your luggage with you, Breakfast was overpriced for what it was. But have to say the staff were excellent and always happy to,help. We felt the area was a bit quiet but we were 10 minutes walk from the metro station Nation which is very big and you can also catch the RER.

Just a few yards from 'Nation' Metro and RER this hotel is in a fine location, with good restaurants abounding along the road. The entrance is unimpressive, but leads to a number of hidden garden courtyards -- so one can have a quiet night's sleep on a busy road. Our room (no 82), although well appointed with cooking ring and microwave, was very small, and we had to squeeze into a recess to get to the wardrobe and room safe. So in essence it is a hotel to be recommended for convenience and good service -- but not from our experience for a luxurious bedroom.

We booked this hotel due to its good price and proximity to a Metro station. Nation on Line 1 is located at the end of the street, about a 2 minute walk away during which you will pass a range of good bars and restaurants.

The courtyard was an attractive feature. On a day with better weather, we could have had a cup of tea or croissant outside, however seeing as it rained, we didn't get the chance. It was beautiful, peaceful and well maintained so it will be a bonus during summer months.

The room was a reasonable size, the kitchen was good. We made use of the fridge as we watched the football on the TV and got a few snacks in from the supermarket at the end of the road. The plates and cutlery came in handy too.

The staff were courteous, said hello (or bonjour) whenever we passed reception and spoke good English. We made use of the luggage room when we arrived early which freed us up to have a roam around Paris. A very useful extra offered by the hotel.

Two things which let it down, the first is that our double bed had two single duvets on it. It was a bit odd but to be honest, it just meant my other half couldn't steal my half of the duvet for a change ;)

The other was that I was having a shower and the bathroom appeared to run out of hot water when we had a long shower in the morning.

We didn't take up the breakfast option as we thought 18 Euros was a bit steep, but we also wanted to venture out of the hotel to sample Parisian eateries. There is a top notch bakery up the road (a little blue one on the corner as you head towards Nation... there's always a queue so you'll know which one it is).

The hotel was clean and in a very convenient location. If I was to return to Paris, I would happily return to this hotel.
