Just a few yards from 'Nation' Metro and RER this hotel is in a fine location, with good restaurants abounding along the road. The entrance is unimpressive, but leads to a number of hidden garden courtyards -- so one can have a quiet night's sleep on a busy road. Our room (no 82), although well appointed with cooking ring and microwave, was very small, and we had to squeeze into a recess to get to the wardrobe and room safe. So in essence it is a hotel to be recommended for convenience and good service -- but not from our experience for a luxurious bedroom.

We booked this hotel due to its good price and proximity to a Metro station. Nation on Line 1 is located at the end of the street, about a 2 minute walk away during which you will pass a range of good bars and restaurants.

The courtyard was an attractive feature. On a day with better weather, we could have had a cup of tea or croissant outside, however seeing as it rained, we didn't get the chance. It was beautiful, peaceful and well maintained so it will be a bonus during summer months.

The room was a reasonable size, the kitchen was good. We made use of the fridge as we watched the football on the TV and got a few snacks in from the supermarket at the end of the road. The plates and cutlery came in handy too.

The staff were courteous, said hello (or bonjour) whenever we passed reception and spoke good English. We made use of the luggage room when we arrived early which freed us up to have a roam around Paris. A very useful extra offered by the hotel.

Two things which let it down, the first is that our double bed had two single duvets on it. It was a bit odd but to be honest, it just meant my other half couldn't steal my half of the duvet for a change ;)

The other was that I was having a shower and the bathroom appeared to run out of hot water when we had a long shower in the morning.

We didn't take up the breakfast option as we thought 18 Euros was a bit steep, but we also wanted to venture out of the hotel to sample Parisian eateries. There is a top notch bakery up the road (a little blue one on the corner as you head towards Nation... there's always a queue so you'll know which one it is).

The hotel was clean and in a very convenient location. If I was to return to Paris, I would happily return to this hotel.

This hotel was in a great location, easy to get to by the metro.
When we arrived the concierge on the desk was extremely friendly and helpful giving us sightseeing advice as well as showing us maps and metro maps to help us find our way.
The room was very clean and the beds comfortable. There was a little kitchen area that we could have prepared meals in although we didn't take advantage of this on this trip.
The room was located off a beautiful little courtyard, a real little oasis.
I would stay here again next time I visit Paris and will recommend to friends and family as well.

Stayed here for a Paris short break with visiting family from Oz. Very clean & comfortable, but our room was a little dark, needed some extra artificial lighting & was up two flights of winding stairs. Staff were extremely helpful, booking excursions etc. Quite easy to get into the centre, Metro only a few minutes away. We can recommend the local restaurant - la tete a toto- for snacks or dinner, very friendly helpful staff , our French language skills being very basic !

Room Tip: No lift, ask where they will be accommodating you if you have a problem with stairs.

The room is equipped with a mini-kitchen and all the cooking gear you need to prepare simple meals. (Carrefor grocery store just up the road too). Clean, comfortable room and great use of space. The center of the hotel has a charming courtyard too. Staff was friendly and printed tickets for me which was a tremendous save (thanks guys!!). The location in Nation is a different side of Paris to see, with a reasonable distance from the main attractions. Still easily accessible by Metro and as other reviewers point out the location's access to the RER lines is an advantage - especially if transiting to CDG Airport.

Room Tip: a room with a view of the courtyard may be nice. Mine was on the 3rd floor and had a view of a roof...

I stayed at this little piece of heaven for a 3 days visit. The rooms were big, clean and all you could ask for, really. The people who worked there was friendly, but I didnt feel the same "closness" as you might do with a smaller, more typical "parisian" hotel, but by all means, they were super helpfull in every way. Close to both Place de Nation and Bastille, who takes you everywhere in the city. Just a few stops you come to beautiful Marais, and you can walk around to all the most popular tourist spots.
Would recommend this to anyone whos travelling to Paris. I'll definately be back :-)

Although on the face of it this hotel seems to be a little bit out of the centre, it more than makes up for it by its proximity to the Metro and RER at Nation, which is literally a few yards up the road. Line 1 takes you within minutes to all the major sights and the RER is line A which means a day trip to Disneyland Paris is a doddle - only 40 mins each way, directly from Nation to MLV-Chessy.
There are plenty of bistros, cafes and restaurants within easy walking distance, including a pleasant bar/restaurant right next door.
Three buildings make up the accommodation and if you're in the farthest one from reception it is a bit of a hike, involving two separate lifts and a walk between each but nothing too onerous. However, some of the courtyard rooms can be reached only via a spiral concrete staircase, making it difficult with luggage or for anyone with a mobility problem. Quite a few rooms face onto pretty internal courtyards, making them fairly quiet and peaceful. Even the rooms that face the street at the back of the Debussy building (the farthest one) are double glazed and not too noisy.
On this occasion, our second stay, we had booked a deal which included breakfast. The previous time we stayed it was not included and we chose not to spend the exorbitant 18 euros per person for it! Thank goodness we didn't have to pay this time. It was one of the poorest hotel breakfasts ever - and not even worth half what was being charged.
There was no toaster, despite the dried up scrambled egg in the hot plate which really needed a slice of buttered toast underneath to make it edible. The sausages in the other hot plate looked like tinned frankfurters but I can't say how they tasted because I couldn't face trying one! The juice was from concentrate and, despite the 18 euros charge, if you want fresh orange they have the temerity to charge an extra 5 euros per glass! They do provide expresso coffeee on demand but it wasn't all that great and the regular coffee wasn't up to much either. The croissants were fairly fresh but nothing special and the cold meat and cheese looked OK but not exciting. All in all, if you don't get breakfast included DON'T pay the 18 euros, just pop down the road to one of the many cafes and you will find better offers.
Having said that about breakfast, the room and rather small bathroom were spotlessly clean, there was a decent flat screen TV with some international channels; good quality sheets and duvets;a full sized under counter fridge which is a bonus if you want to keep your own water, wine etc. cool and there is a very small kitchen alcove with a hotplate along with pans etc, should you wish to prepare something yourself.
I would certainly recommend this hotel if you can find a reasonable deal - just don't bother with breakfast...

Room Tip: Courtyard rooms are lovely and quiet but access to some of them is awkward
