My husband and I stayed here for a couple of nights in August 2012. My first impression even before we got there was the helpfulness of the staff while making arrangements over the phone, and we got upgraded upon our arrival which was a nice gift indeed. The hotel is well located a short walk from the Luxembourg Gardens, but located on a quiet street. Nice, pleasantly decorated room with a modern bathroom. We did not dine here so i can't review the restaurant but we'll be sure to check it out on our next trip. The hotel staff was very helpful in recommending nearby restaurants which always turned out to be excellent spots. The hotel cat, who went rifling through my open carry-on while my back was turned was a hoot...loved him. We are looking forward to staying here again.

Nice location, near the latin quarter and close to Jardin du Luxembourg. Restaurant Polidor next to The Hotel ( used as location in Woody Allens film Midnight in Paris ) serves cheap and deligthful French Brasserie food. Although you are in the middle of Paris it is a quiet neighbourhood. We will certainly return. Couple from Denmark.

Our booking with this hotel was based completely on reviews from the Tripadvisor web site as of Jan 2013. The staffs assistance with our arrangements to get from Gare De Nord to them and their other advice during the booking process was encouraging that we had made the right choice. The service during our stay was friendly, polite and helpful through out. The room was very clean and the bathroom in particular was of a good standard.
The location is good, short walk west to the great shops in the Latin Qtr, south to Luxembourg Gardens and if you like traditional French food try the Polidor Restaurant next door for lunch or Dinner.

Had a great stay here, well worth it!!

Room Tip: We stayed in room 13 which was on the front of the hotel. A little noisy if you want the window open...

Myself and five friends stayed at this hotel for three nights in February. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were spotlessly clean and comfortable and the location was wonderful; the hotel is near several tube stations, yet so centrally positioned that we could walk to many attractions. The hotel was excellently placed for good restaurants, being a ten minute walk from Rue de St Severin. We were really impressed with the breakfasts- a huge array of breads and pastries as well as fruit, yoghurt, cooked meats and cheeses. We would definitely return to this hotel.

Room Tip: The fifth floor has attic rooms so if you would prefer a little more space, avoid rooms on this floo...

Dear Clients,

We thank you very much for your review. The hotel is close to rue St Severin, which is very famous for the church and concerts in the church St Severin ( Bach, Hendel, Abel...)

Regarding our breakfast, most of our breads are organic (we say "bio" ;-) and we buy all viennoiseries, pastries and bread from master bakers ( Boulangerie d'Assas and Pain Moisan)

We thank you and your friends for your recent visit and we hope to meet you again very soon. :-)
Kind regards

I have stayed in many hotels both for leisure and during my career - all of a high rating. But Hotel Saint Paul Rive Gauche ticks every box that truly matters for the visitor:
Exceptional standard of customer service - nothing is too much trouble, every conceivable question is answered, Stephanie's knowledge of Paris is unbeatable. Rooms are quiet, spotless, extremely comfortable beds, wi-fi that is free and always works! Breakfast is a delight, beautiful quaint surroundings, quiet unassuming service with extensive spread of organic breads, fresh fruit, cheeses, hams, pastries and the best cappuccino I have tasted anywhere.
The location is unbeatable with the stunning Luxembourg gardens a few minutes away, and walking distance of all the major visitor attractions. Bus routes in any direction are very close for those who don't want to walk. A gorgeous cosy lounge with daily papers and guide books - there was nothing missing at this hotel - it simply offers the best visitor experience imaginable - the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of this treasure filled City.

This hotel knows not only how to meet guest expectations but how to exceed them in a discreet and charming manner. A consistent team that proved themselves exceptional over a nine day stay - I was really sad to leave!

Room Tip: Excellent lift access, including breakfast room.

My sister and I went on a 3 night break to Paris last month and booked this hotel after extensive TA research. We would both happily return!
We got the RER from the airport straight to (a very snowy!) Luxembourg and found the hotel very easily. The RER took about half an hour. Stephanie greeted us and was very friendly and helpful. nb-there is a lift so you don't need to lug your cases up the stairs!
The hotel is south of the water near Luxembourg gardens (5th or 6th) and just off boulevard St-Michel. We loved the location and felt very safe here and central enough to walk to lots of different places. There are good restaurants nearby (I'd recommend Au Pere Louis) and underground/RER stops within 5 mins walk. We walked almost everywhere from the hotel except from very far north, when we took the metro.
We wanted an independent hotel with character and this fitted the bill perfectly. Our room was gorgeous with wooden beams on the roof. It was big enough for our cases and all of our shopping too! The bathroom looked like it had been recently refurbished. I had emailed the hotel a few days before our stay asking for a room with a shower if possible and they made sure that we had this-excellent customer service. The room had a fantastic heating system, which we took full advantage of as it was minus 5 and snowing, and was kept clean for us throughout our stay. There is also a minibar if your feet are just too tired to head to a bar!

We were meant to check out and fly back on the sunday but I received a text on Saturday from the airline saying the flight had been cancelled due to snow. We managed to book another flight on the monday so we went to reception to try to extend our stay and they were so helpful. The gentleman manning reception managed to get us another night, even although they were very busy, and even helped us print our boarding passes for the new flight. The next day we went down to swap rooms and they had re-jigged it so that we could stay in the same room. They made the whole thing so much easier for us- the customer service really is second to none.
Skype (the famous cat) was unfortunately on holiday so we are determined to go back to meet him!
Thank you to all the staff at Saint Paul Rive Gauche for all your help and for making us feel so welcome.

Dear Client,
This is a real success for us: the title that you gave to your review could not be nicer as it means that our hotel perfectly matched with your expectations
Stephanie, Olivier and myself are very happy to read your great (and long) review . It helps other travelers to choose our hotel and offers many details.
"Au Pere Louis" is a nice little "bar à vins- restaurant" accross the street and it is good advise to share...:-)
We look forward to welcoming you again,
Kind regards

We chose this hotel because of the excellent Trip Advisor reviews, and we’re very happy we did. It’s comfortable, warm, welcoming and in a great Parisian neighborhood, close to many restaurants and tourist spots, and a short walk to the Metro and the RER, so you can easily take the airport train. Everyone at the front desk was outstandingly nice, helping us with directions and reservations. The room and bathroom were a little small, but you won’t be spending too much time in your room anyway—you’re in Paris! Our room faced the street, but we never had a problem with noise. The only issue we had was that the room had only one electric outlet, which the TV was already using. The front desk lent us an adapter, but I’d advise buying or bringing a power strip to plug in all your smartphones at once. Our only real disappointment was that we missed meeting the hotel’s resident cat. Maybe next time!

Dear Clients,
We thank you very much for your nice review. Regarding the outlet, there are 2 rooms out of 31 that do not have extra outlet. We usually provide our clients with a power-strip (available on request) and we also have adaptors for our guests, as you said.
We will add extra outlets very shortly. Nowadays, everyone has 1 or 2 cellulars + 1 tablet + 1 laptop ....and ladies also have a curling-iron, etc... :-) So, we must offer all amenities to our clients.
Thank you again for your visit! We also hope that you will meet Skype the cat next time. He is a "good-boy" as everybody says. :-)
Kind regards

The 31 bedrooms are colourful and range in style from the modern - vibrant flowered fabrics - to the traditional - exposed beams and elegant opaque curtains. There are beamed ceilings, faux ostrich bed-heads, clever corner armoires, even two baldaquin beds beneath the high ceilings of the lower floors. Entirely renovated in 2015, this boutique-hotel is close to everything, in the heart of the action, but in a quiet little street.
