Just stayed one night. Could have stayed longer as it's not as worn as made out by others. They have renovated the bathroom, bright, hot water, spacious. The hotel has done wonders to keep it up and you appreciate the old furnishings.

Quiet road although it is historic Rue Cardinal and leas to the museum.

Highly recommended if you have a budget.

We did not have the best introduction to Paris with unfriendly customer service at the train station, who lead us in the wrong direction on a day pouring with rain - so when we finally arrived at the hotel we were pleasantly surprised when we arrived that the staff member who checked us in spoke perfect english! She was so helpful giving up tips about how to avoid queues at the Louvre, and gave us excellent directions of exactly where we needed to go.
The room was gorgeously decorated, with a nice large tv and full length mirror! Excellent attention to detail... The bed was comfortable and bathroom very clean and spacious. It couldn't have been in a better location, only a 1 minute walk to the metro and good restaurants/nightlife at your doorstep.
On our departure the lovely ladies who checked us out helped us again with making a few international phone calls and logging onto the net (only downside was the wifi wasn't fantastic there) and even walked us out to show us the direction of where we needed to go...
We would definately recommend this hotel, and if we ever returned to Paris would stay there again! Thanks so much Hotel Residence des Arts!!! Lian and Dan, Australia

we had stayed here during our first trip 3 years ago. The size of our suite was very big.....2 room, big king bed, separate room with a couch and tv.....great. The bathroom is big also....but the place does need work. it seems like nothing new was done since our last trip, even the elevator mirror has a very large crack in it...that was STILL there. I find this unacceptable in terms of up keep. The staff i cannot say enough good things about. I sent many many emails with questions to them before my arrival and they replied right away and were VERY helpful. Also, the lobby has a very funny odor, all the time which make it unpleasant to enter, the lobby floor has many cracked tiles and the carper on all the stairs is horribly worn and looks awful. At 261 euro per night, this is not what you expect

Room Tip: the suite is a great size

Dear Guests,

We would like to thank you for your review.
We always take a good note of our guests' remarks. You will be pleased to learn that just a couple of weeks after your departure the lift glass had been repaired. The laying of new carpet has been planned for a long time, unfortunatyely it cannot be done during our busiest months since it would bother too much our guests.
We thank you for prasing our Staff, we try hard to provide the best service possible and are happy when we can help our guests even before their coming to Paris. We are sure that if you decide to stay with us next time , you will be positevely surprised.

Dollar for dollar, this is a great, great Paris hotel. The room was small by US standards but actually a nice size for Paris (we have stayed in many other places), and the real plus here is the location. It's right in the middle of the Latin Quarter and all the restaurants/creperies in the area. It can get noisy at night, but the windows do a great job shutting it all out. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay.

A nice boutique hotel in a fun area. We have stayed here on several occasions and have always found the rooms nice, comfortable and clean. The location in the Latin Quarter is excellent only 100 metres from the river and a short walk from lots of sights. Plenty of bars and restaurants around for drinks and food - and not too expensive either. The Café Latin attached to the hotel is always good - lovely atmosphere, nice music and great staff. I would happily recommend this to anyone.

Thank you for your kind comments !

We are flattered that you have chosen to stay several times in our hotel. At the reception desk, we love seeing familiar faces, and helping you to discover more and more of beautiful Paris during each of your stays.

As you said, the hotel truly is in the heart of Paris : the alley in which it is may be small and quaint, but bustling Paris is only one street away. Set in between the Quartier Latin, Saint Germain and the river bank, you get to enjoy the distinctive feel of the Rive Gauche (Left Bank), while being one minute away from the subways, buses and RERs of Paris.

We hope to see you again to make you discover yet more delicious restaurants and pretty spots !

The Staff.

My husband and I stayed at the "Residence" for a week in July.
The location is just fabulous: 5 minute walk to Notre Dame - just a few minutes more to the Louvre and the Tuilleries. Boule St. Mich just around the corner and so is the Boulevard St. Germain. Three Metro stops within walking distance, restaurants and different shops galore.
The rooms are very comfortable, clean, w/coffee and tea making facilities. And Wi-Fi is free !!!
The staff is extremely helpful, efficient, charming and multi-lingual !
It was definitely a pleasure to stay in this hotel !

Thank for your comment !

We are happy you had a nice time in our hotel ! We believe in making your stay as pleasant as possible, and are always glad to share our knowledge of beautiful Paris.

As you said, the location is truly wonderful, right between Saint Germain and le Quartier Latin, full of restaurants and shops, and landmarks such as Notre Dame Cathedral or the Louvre. Plus, if you feel like going up to see Montmartre or Versaille, you just have to hop on one of the many subways and RERs that leave from the Saint Michel Station, 1 minute away from the hotel.

We hope we'll get to welcome you again !

The Staff.

We found this hotel years ago when we can with our younger children. We have since stayed twice more and love the location in the Saint Michelle area, convenient to a wide variety of restaurants and the metro and RER station. It's a short walk to both Notre Dame and the Louvre/Tuileries area. We had a "suite" with a living area, bedroom, kitchenette and full bath so the room was spacious given its central Paris location. As an old building, there are some quirks. The elevator is extremely small and stops halfway between floors so you have to take some stairs to get to your room (or to bring in your luggage). It is a small place and check-in and concierge is across the street. The staff was very helpful. We look forward to our fourth stay at Residence des Arts.

Thank you to have taken the time to write a comment !

You made quite an accurate description of our hotel - right in the heart of old Paris, a lovely place providing large and cosy rooms. Since the building is from the XVIth Century, it does possess its quirks, but we do our very best to make it as comfortable for you as possible. Next time, don't hesitate to ask the desk for help with your luggage, we'll be glad to help you out !

We hope you and your family will come and visit Paris (and us) a fourth time, although soon you will surely know the city as well as the staff!
