“A gem of a hotel with great staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 5, 2013

We have just arrived back from spending 3 nights in Paris staying at the Hotel Lutetia. As everyone says the location of the hotel is fabulous. We were also well impressed with the Hotel Manager and the staff (concierge was great, the receptionists were also very helpful). On arrival I needed to speak to the manager about our hotel booking with respect to the breakfast and he made himself instantly available and was a pleasure to talk to and helped us sort out the matter. The breakfast and food at the hotel is outstanding, they offer a great variety of food and excellent quality. The beds were extemely comfortable. We will definitely be back and we thank the staff and the hotel for their hospitality.

We have been to Paris many times, and had no interest in staying on the right bank. This was recommended as we have a ten year old, and some of the small boutique hotels on the Left Bank would be cramped size wise for 3. Our travel agent recommended the Lutetia. Its a lovely art deco hotel in a great location. The metro is right across the street, and Bon Marche a block away across the park. Fabulous shopping (Hermes boutique next door) and restaurants within walking distance. Short lovely walk to the Seine.
We were in a executive junior suite with 2 balconies (one juliet, one small with 2 chairs) and a great view of the Eiffel Tower. Two rooms ( when booking an exec junior suite make sure you request ones with doors that separate the two rooms). Big king bed in bedroom and flat screen TV. Plenty of room for extra bed in living area, which had desk, sofa, coffee table, 2 easy chairs and cabinet with flat screen tv. Big marble bathroom with tub, shower with bench, and two sinks. Good towels and Annick Goutal toletries. Separate closet-dressing room. Separate toilet. Recently renovated, although the furniture was a little dinged. Windows are sound proofed so no street noise.
Breakfast is great with every kind of food , although get there by 9 if you don't want to wait- it gets packed.
Housekeeping could use a little work- the sliding doors didn't close totally and it took 3 calls plus one from our travel agent to get them fixed. Plus our dirty glasses either didn't get removed our weren't replaced. We finally had to call to ask to get clean ones.
Front desk was helpful and efficient. There was a mini bar charge on our bill that got removed instantly when I disputed it.
The concierges are GREAT! Very nice and efficient. Gave great recommendations on restaurants that were more local- not just Michelin starred or hyper expensive.
We ate in La Brasserie. Excellent food (not cheap). Service a little slow in the beginning, but then was fine. However, we felt as though we were seated in the American- we're staying in hotel section.
Never tried the spa.
I usually stay in smaller hotelss, but highly recommend the Lutetia.

Its location in the historic center of the city and a short distance from the Eiffel Tower is a great advantage.
Beautiful hotel, especially the reception, lobby and dining room very cozy and classic.
Rooms standards but was thinking about every little detail, especially in the bathroom, the most luxurious bed and you will not want to get out in the morning.
Most Recommended breakfast. Hope to return soon.

As I was booked to this hotel for a conference, I was not there by choice. Nevertheless, this was by far the best hotel I've ever stayed in Paris where I've found the standards to be generally low to my liking. I rank this hotel something between 4 and 5 star.

My room (105) was a normal sized hotel room, not too big, not too small. There was an internal door which separated the very good sized bathroom and walkway from the rest of the room, blocking sounds from the corridor. The bed was a double sized bed which I found to be very comfortable. The room was very clean.

I found all the staff to be very friendly and willing to help. I believe this is a great asset to the hotel.

Breakfast was very good with a good selection of items, although i admit I found the breakfast area a bit small.

Overall a great stay.

Well we did upgrade to The Eiffle Suite which I really liked. A little too modern for my boyfriend. We had an increadible view. Stunning really. The only bad experience is I left out a piece of jewelry which housekeeping did not return. I have never had a piece of jewelry taken in a hotel so this is a bit uncomfortable for me. It just happened so perhaps I will get a phone call and edit this review. Room service was very good although our room was not always cleaned adequately. For instance the coffe was not refilled twice. We were given plenty of xyra towels when needed and ice buckets as requested. We did not have the breakfast so I cannot comment. The hotel Lobby is the place to be apparently. Live jazz and a very good bar. This place gets busy so it is best to reserve a spot if you want to have a few cocktails and enjoy the show. The restaurant is wonderful. Just remember you are in Paris so unless the weather is terrible try to leave the hotel. My point being you can find everything you need right on the block. Close to shopping. The saint Germaine indoor market is a short walk and worth it. Great location. If you want a small room this hotel is very convenient so I would just not worry. Good choice except for the missing jewelry.

You should choose this place for its location : direct on the metro station (Sévres Babylone), in the nice shopping area (Rue du Four), 2 metro stops from d'Orsay, nice brasseries - and away from the masses.
The hotel itself and rooms are tired ( 3 tripsadvisor stars for this), used to be Gestapo headquarters during the second world war, still shows the after war charm of the 40s and 50s - old fashioned doors in the marble bathrooms and antique furniture in the rooms. I had a room facing the street, it is noisy,in summer you could not open the windows. TV did not work, but this did not bother me at all, the beds are comfy. Breakfast is excellent as in the most of the hotels in France

When you enter this hotel you feel like going back about a 100 years in time (the hotel was built in 1910!) while receiving modern comfort and service. It surely it a special place, that fits Paris and you would not be able to find a similar style elsewhere! Classic, comfortable and well maintained rooms, not very spacious. Breakfast is splendid and lunch was wonderful as well. I stayed for business and indeed had the experience that wifi was not working the way it should (slow or not working at all). Apart from that I was more than satisfied and would advise it to anyone who is looking for a luxurious and comfortable and truly Paris style hotel.
