“Loud construction, unaccommodating staff”
Reviewed September 25, 2013

We moved out after one night.

- Jack hammers from the nearby Les Halles construction site start at 7am
- Hotel is attempting to fill rooms through Hotwire deals
- Staff was anything BUT accommodating

From a misunderstanding around airport transportation to the lack of notice on the construction noise, we could not get one of the 3 staff members we had been in contact with to issue as much as an apology.

It was my partner's birthday and we spent it negotiating with the hotel staff to be relocated to a side of the hotel with less construction noise. The less than accommodating attitude finally prompted us to move out.

Room Tip: Don't recommend staying in this hotel, but if you choose to do so, insist on a room facing away...

Dear Guest,

Thank you for choosing the Novotel Paris Les Halles for your stay in Paris and for taking the time to share your feedbacks on Tripadvisor.

It is true that Les Halles are going through major renovations and we are doing our best to reduce the noise and welcome our guest in a most pleasant atmosphere. I am deeply sorry to read that you did not have a pleasant stay with us. I have taken good note of all your comments and shall not fail to check with the concerned service in order to avoid such incident in the future.

I hope this has not altered the image of our establishment and that you will consider our hotel for your next visit to Paris.

Best Regards,

The surroundings of the Forum Les Halles set the tone for the neighbourhood - mid renovation and sexy rebuild, the access to the hotel is challenging around construction screening and blocked routes.

Inside the public areas are fine, and the Dining area (ignore the view unless you are a construction engineer) + meals are good hotel standard. Likewise the Meeting rooms are well equipped and well serviced.

What really lets this hotel down are the lacklustre Front of House team, and the quality of the bedrooms - outdated, tired, dreary, with thin, dingy carpets and with basic bathrooms - this place needs a shot of vitality and a revamp.

Ok for a meeting but to sleep here......For this price there are better options available.

We spent 3 nights in this hotel fir vacation, with 2 young kids (one in a wheelchair). The staff was very knowledgable, friendly, nulti-lingual and accommodating. The rooms may be a little smaller than what you can get outside the heart of Paris, but yet - VERY comfortable, clean and accommodating. The hotel has a wide elevator, and even wider selection at the morning buffet.
It is located in a walking distance (for a family with youngsters!!) to La Maais area, the Pompedo Centre, and the Louvre, as well at the crossroads of the Metro and Bus routs. The nearby construction in Les Halles area has minimal affect on the interior of the hotel, it's services, or noise levels (we stayed on the 5th floor, but was not even bothered much with the noise at breakfast downstairs). We highly recommend this hotel to families!!!!

Room Tip: Ask for a higher floor. It might be quieter. No floor is high enough to view the Eiffel Tower,so don...

We have travelled to Paris every year for 15 years and stayed in quite a number of hotels. We found this hotel 5 years ago and now we love it...The minute you enter the hotel you are made to feel very welcome. The reception staff are the finest We have met anywhere in Europe..The rooms are comfortable, The breakfasts are to die for as the choice is never ending..Again, the staff are friendly..When leaving the hotel, the concierge phones a taxi for you and takes your luggage to the taxi and loads it in for you and wishes you a pleasant journey..They never expect a tip and YOU have to call them back and insist on a tip..It is a very reasonable priced hotel and I am sure you will love it as we do..We love it so much we have joined the frequent visitor's club..The bar and Restuarant are modern and they have a well equipped gymnasium..It is a 10 minute stroll to the River Seine/Notre Dame

I spent 1 night in this hotel on business. The problem was finding it. There is alot of building going on in the Les Halles area and some of the roads are closed which is a little confusing. However, once located the lobby area is lovely, modern and inviting. The check in was seamless and the staff extremely helpful. I had a room on the second floor. The room I had was a little dated and tired but very clean, comfortable and surprisingly spacious for Paris. The bathroom had all the things an overnight stay would usually require and there was a hair dryer which worked - always a bonus. We used the bar, which again was nice and relaxing and seemed quite popular with guests. Breakfast was the usual buffet affair but there was something for everyone and the quality was excellent. We also used the conference facilities and these could not be faulted; they provided everything we could have needed. The location was excellent; a short walk from the Notre Dame and if you went in the other direction from the Louvre and other attractions. I would definitely use this hotel again.
