“Great location and price for a Paris Historical site”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 12, 2012

This hotel is located on a great Paris historical passage that is an actual historical site. It is lined with great classic shops and even had Paris art students there one day drawing the storefronts. The hotel itself is very relaxed and informal. The staff was incredibly accomodating and even let us pay our bill after we went to Spain and came back to continue our stay. The daily breakfast is very good and worth the 7 euro. Rate was 114 euro for the largest room there. The rooms are basic and quaint. The location puts you within easy walking distance of the Seine, the Louvre and the Champs Elysee. Nearest metro stop is just a few storefronts down. We would stay here again in a minute.

Room Tip: Ask for the higher end room or you may not have a toilet in your room.

We booked a double room "Classic" (the best available in the hotel) based on your reviews and the hotel pictures on their website, and to our surprise the hotel looks very abandon, and our "Classic" room was very small and dirty, with a little white fan in a corner, smaller bed than advertised with a faded cover, no phone and very dark....my wife was in panic when she imagine us staying in Paris for -6 days- in that room (in their web page looks totally different indeed it looks very nice). We moved immediately to an other place and we had to pay one night (for cancellation fee) in the Hotel Chopin.... the composer would had escaped indeed just as we did!!. We imagined a discreet clean and standard room, we had a terrible experience!

I was originally booked in another hotel but changed my mind when I read the raving reviews about Hotel Chopin in Tripadvisor. The hotel did not disappoint. The staff are very accommodating and speak perfect English. The room I was given was on the 2nd floor and had a window. There was no view except for the apartment in the adjacent building but I didn't mind that at all. The room was charming with its light blue curtains and coverlet with a shabby chic look to it. It had its own bathroom which was small but better than in most hotels of this price range. The bathroom was modern. I had TV (with only French shows), a writing table, a telephone and a room safe. Wireless internet was available in the lobby and dining area. Breakfast was available at Euro 7, which was affordable by Paris standards. This consisted of freshly-squeezed orange juice, coffee or tea, bread (French and croissant), a selection of jams, cream cheese and butter, yoghurt, fresh fruit compote and cereal. You can take breakfast in the dining area or in your room. The room was always clean, freshly made when I come back after a day's tour. And on top of all these, the hotel is so centrally located, walking distance to Paris' biggest department stores (Lafayette and Printemps) and to almost all the tourist attractions. If you need to take the metro, the nearest one (Grand Boulevard station) is just a few meters away. From the airport, the hotel is easily reached by taking the airport shuttle bus to the Opera and then a short walk to the hotel along Boulevard Hausmann. Now I know why this hotel is almost always fully booked. I was just lucky to have booked weeks in advance and got the last double room available at the time.

Hotel Chopin was the prefect hotel for my first visit to Paris. The staff was kind and helpful. Breakfast was in a charming little room with plenty of fresh oj, croissants, coffee and general breakfast fare. My room was small, but comfortable and clean. The hotel is located in a 'passage', (a glass covered arcade full of shops http://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passages_couverts_de_Paris) it is a wonderful place to be every day. The metro was right outside the passage and we were about 7 blocks from the Paris Opera. I would recommend Hotel Chopin to everyone especially if you are on a budget. I would go back tomorrow.

The price was right...the location beyond excellent and the warm croissants in the morning made my day. It’s very basic with comfortable beds and a caring staff…Please don’t expect the Ritz but if you’re looking for a well-priced, safe, convenient room…this is it.

This hotel offers basic rooms in a good location. If you want a good place to sleep and somewhere with good transport links (metro 2 min walk) then this is a good bet. It has wi-fi in the lobby (not in rooms - bit annoying). Staff speak good english and helped my girlfriend when she lost her wallet. But, at the end of the day, it doesn't offer anything apart from a bed to sleep in. Would go again if I am on a similar but budget, but certainly wouldn't go back if I had a bit more money to spend.

A,lthough this hotel is in a great location, situated at the end of an elegant Passage close to the metro, its rooms are al little shabby and in need of a face lift.
That said comfy bed good shower and very clean good value for money.
